Is this something that exists in factory form?  Any leads on where to find one?  Are they rare and pricey?  

Thinking about adding a 7.62x39 variant that'll use my existing mags.

There is 2 on Gunbroker.com.
1 is very good price & the 2nd $300 more. It looks to be new in the box! You better jump on it!

Are what you should look for, but they go by other names as well.

The Sporter and M models have 16" barrels and AK mags, the D model has a 20" barrel, but people sometimes list 16" models as D's.

Apparently they are out there, but I have never seen one for sale!!

An un-neutered Paratrooper that takes AK mags that is!!

I have an SKS D
and an SKS M or Sporter (Thumbhole stock no bayo lug)

Sure would like to find the Paratrooper model with the bayo lug.  Cant remember the name right now...
