Hi all just bought two new Gibbs Matta Yugo type bolt hold open mags and one fit tight on my guns and one was out of spec as in I had to file the shit out of the rear lug for it to fit my milled receiver Chinese ak47. This mag was NOT built correctly so if any of you might be think of buying some make SURE to look at the top of the mag especially the rear lug as they are short and fat compared to the old surplus Yugo mag I have , check them carefully, they might not all be in spec.  Are they already having quality control issues???   Anybody else have any issues with them??

For a while the Gibbs-Matra mags appeared to be GTG, certainly when compared to the Croatian commercial mags, but I've seen more than one report like yours.

Don't they come with a replacement warranty? Why not just send it back for a new one?

I prolly should have but I cannot help I just like to fix things is a challenge I guess just wanted to give a heads-up to the other guys...  o yea I shot that mag today and it worked and even held the bolt open but I had to file the shit out of the lug to make it work I shot it in a Century AK63D milled underfolder,

The Gibb's mags are great as long as they are used in Yugo/Serb rifles.

I have had to do the exact same thing to mags from every country. Its one of those things that happens.

Yup from all the reviews these need to be used in Yugo AKs or you are gonna have headaches.  I only own Yugo AKs but still don't care to buy any of these in case I want to add some other AKs to the collection.

I bought 10 new and no issues in either Yugo or converted Saiga AKM
