I'm looking to pick up some mags for an AK-47 that's on the way.

I found some Polish metal mags.  Are they good?

I'm curious to know as well. I saw those pop up for sale in my email a few hours ago

These are good mags.  Ordered 20 myself.

From my observations of European metal AK mags, the DDR (East German) mags are the best made (best and most uniform welds) and finest finished (usually blued).  Following them are the Polish / Russian / Bulgarian / Hungarian, and then the Romanian and others.  Most Polish are paint over park and look very nice.  Most of the ones seen lately are identical to the Russian mags with the L in the rib (at least the last ones that I purchased from AIM were).

I'll assume surface rust. I'd be curious if the inside is also repainted. Anyone received theirs yet?

Nope...not shipped yet.  It will probably be after Christmas.

I hope they're good.

They're $10 now. One day they'll be $50. It happened before. Buy cheap, stack deep.

I got mine today and they are really nice.  Seems like thick paint, almost like Rustoleum type.  Look good but haven't used them to shoot yet.

Lol. Man after my own heart. I rarely order any mags in qty's less than 50 or so. Of course I try to only buy when they are at their lowest knowing that they will never lose any value. Ever.

Some photos and reviews on a competing site.  Good paint job on exterior, a few dents, a bit dirty/rusty on the inside...

They're about what I expected for used mags.  What on earth do people expect for used AK mags?  They're a good value for ten bucks.

No problem, everyone has different views. My last best deal was the 10 Hungarian used mags at whatacountry.com for $100.
No rust inside or out.

Thanks for.everyone's input.

It's all good.

Got mine.  Look great, but locked up so tight in my Arsenal I had a lot of trouble getting it out.  Looks like the paint is pretty thick on the back lug and after a bit of filing, fit is much better.
When I say a little filing, I mean basically remove the paint down to bare metal.

Good deal, thanks.

I don't mind rust here and there on the body or follower, but I run away from rusted springs. These springs look great.

Got 10 yesterday. I ordered them on the 17th so not bad at all on shipping time.

All 10 fit perfectly, not too tight, minimal wobble. No filing of the paint needed.
No dents anywhere on any magazine.
9 of the springs literally look brand new. The 10th spring just looked dirty.
No sand, grit or anything inside. The insides all look to be painted. No bare metal.
All of the followers look to be painted black, a few looked to be blued. Nothing like the pics on the first page.
3 of the followers have a hole on one side of the hump. I'm no expert and have never seen this before. Can't see the hole causing any issue. Anyone have any info on this?

Overall for the price including shipping I'm satisfied. May buy 10 more.

I'm not understanding the question. Sorry.
I'm really pleased with the mags I got. Even the 3 with the hole in the follower. I can't see how it would affect function. I just noticed they were different.
The only other thing is to check for function. Comparing these mags to all the others I have I'm pretty sure they will be fine.

my state is such a pile of crap.  These mags look fantastic...  these appear to be a step up from Chinese flatback.  The last deal like this long ago I entered the WRONG amount in the quantity box...

Brought ten, all look great! Try fitting them into seven different AK.  Some fit fine, some tighten.  There is one that barely fit in some rifles and won't fit at all in some other rifles.  Disassemble them, some got spot rusts on the spring and follower, easy to clean. One got a a bent floor plate. Easily bent back into shape.    Overall  I'm happy.

Early followers in some countries had a hole, allegedly for drainage if used in the rain or whatever, in practice this never became an issue, so later followers had the hole eliminated. Will cause no issues whatsoever and is the "correct" follower for a lot of older first gen euro mags including the big daddy Russian slabsides.

Got mine in. Tried them on Bulgarian sa93, hungarian sa85m, norinco mak90, romanian sar1, and yugo m92.  They all lock in easily, nice and tight.  A bit hard to squeeze the mag release on all but the m92.  Prob the coating on the mag catch area.  Maybe I will take some coating off on the catch to see if they release more easily.  Otherwise, look to be great mags to me.

Got my 10. 9 fit perfectly, one was a little tight due to excess paint thickness. Fortunately, AKs are "self fitting" when it comes to mags. Just sit in front of the TV, fire up an episode of the a team on Netflix and install/Remove the mag about a hundy times... Blowing paint bits off from time to time... and, done!

I just got mine in a few days ago. There were about 2-3 with a a few surface rust spots on them. Other than that they looked fine. I test fitted them to my wasr 10-63. One of the newer ones with the older style stocks. It has a fairly tight mag well. All but 2 of them fit fine. Those two will eventually they just need a little paint wore off.
Better to let use do it than sanding them as they will fit better that way.

I'm happy with what I got for the money. Are they Chinese flat backs, Russians, or Yugo bolt hold opens, no.  They are great mags though.

I ordered 4 and they arrived today.  There were a couple minor dings.  1 mag had small amounts of surface rust on the spring but cleaned up easily.  2 Fit perfectly, 1 was a little loose and the other was a tight fit on a Southern Armament receiver.

I'm happy with the purchase and may have to order some more.

These are great for me.  I received 3 in very good condition.  Fits in my rear converted Saiga perfectly and reduces some of the wobble I have with pmags and palms.  I liked them so much, I just placed a second order.
