So I was browsing around internet and came across this...

http://www.sgammo.com/product/surplus/1-magazine-30-round-antique-ak-mag-north-korean-1950s-60s-partial-star-proof-mark-so

Where did these mags come from!?

assuming they are North Korean, NK sells military gear to nations all over the world. After its sat in a foreign friendly country for a few years it magically stops being NK for import purposes. Occasionally NK Bayonets show up too.

I'm not sure where the importer got them, but I had a handful mixed in an order of Russian steel mags that were imported from Bulgaria. There were also a dozen or so Chinese mags mixed in. I'm sure they didn't come from Bulgaria, but maybe the importer brought them in together. They were probably purchased by Albania and floated around some former Yugoslavian country.

From what I understand SG found them in a shipment of Chinese magazines. I bought one of them and can confirm they match up with everything saying they're North Korean. Similar stamp to my other North Korean mag.

NK mags are mil-spec compared to SK? Or same junk quality? Just interested

North Korean magazines are mil-spec Combloc mags. South Korean mags are commercially produced and of lesser quality.
