I just bought a Zastava M92 7.62x39. In regards to the factory 30 rnd mag that comes with M92, is there a time limit on how long the ammo should be stored in the mag? Will the springs lose strength if not decompressed once in awhile?

Thanks

It's repeated loading and unloading that causes the stress, not long term compression.

That's good to know, thanks!

I wouldn't/don't leave them loaded to capacity for long term storage...a few rounds short isn't going to hurt anything.

Load them up and don't worry about it.

This.

The mag and spring would probably rust away before the spring wears out.

Either way you'll be dead long before it goes bad from sitting in a cool, dry environment.

My uncle had a bunch of m1 carbine 15 round mags he loaded in the 60's and had never unloaded the mags. I took them to the range a few years ago and had no problems at all with the mags. They were loaded for fiftyish years and all did just fine.
