I've noticed a lot of distributors are stocking 7.62x39 and they are not sold out for a while now. Also prices of 7.62x39 are going down! You can find 1000 rounds for around $200-220 shipped!
Lets hope this trend continues. |

Must not open link ahh I have a pretty bad ammo addiction, don't worry I buy what I can afford I'm not charging up 1000's of $ worth of ammo....yet haha. I "good" on 7.62x39 for the moment, I need to start stocking up on other calibers

I don't know if it is just MN or what, but I have to pay tax when I order from Sportsman's Guide. Makes it harder for them to compete for my online ammo orders.

The-armory.com has wolf hp and fmj for $219 per K delivered with code wolf762.

Ya this is probably the best price we'll see for a while! Ordered multiple K in separate orders to get the shipping.
They're OK with it. |

I ordered 1000 from sportsmansguide on 1/30 and received it 2/1. It was a sealed case of 50 boxes. The case was packed inside of another box with other paper fill.

This was my first order from the Armory and so far I'm impressed with there prices and service. I didn't really need any 7.62x39 but $220 a K shipped is way under what every else has it for, couldn't pass it up. |

Mine arrived today. Ordered 9pm on 2/5 arrived 3pm on 2/8, pretty fast from VA to IN. Came in the WOLF box marked as such sitting on my porch, didn't like the "advertising" box on the porch, but the tracking number I knew it was coming and was there when FedEx dropped it off. I give them 5 stars and would/will order from them again.

Thanks for the review.I like when places double box to keep the contents discreet as well.
Bookmarked the site next time they have a sale. |

It's gotten to the point where no one like me can buy a little at a time and stock up so I can get to the range. Also non-steel ammo is way too high still. Impala |

With Russian invading the Ukraine, and creating diplomatic stress. I would say now is a very good time to buy. Executive orders can easily stop or at least harass imports. I picked up a case of the $232 (delivered) UC generic white box Wolf, even though I rarely shoot 7.62X39. Could be quite a while before you see ammo prices that low again.

Right now is an excellent time to buy.The future is uncertain on imports. When the next panic comes (and it will) whatever it maybe from, if anyone complains about prices or availability its your own fault for not buying now. |

just placed an order with ammoman, seemed like the best deal going. I sure can see the panic button being pushed soon

If it is this is what is said about it:
2009-2010 Russian made 7.62x39 ammo with a 124 grain FMJ bullet (magnetic jacketed with lead core). This is non-corrosive ammo with a steel case. This ammo will have a "Wolf" headstamp and but in generic white box packaging and does not carry the Wolf Performance Ammunition guarantee as it was manufactured under contract for a different outlet and is now being liquidated after being tied up for several years due to trademark issues. |
|
|
I think they are discussing this ammo.
SG Ammo also has it at that link for $209/case (same price AIM had it before it went out of stock). Shipping was $22 to Montana from Oklahoma. May be less if you're closer. They have other Russian and Ukranian Wolf/Wolf MC in stock too. |
|
Picked up 500 rounds of it, I'm thinking 7.62x39 is going to be a lot harder to find with the current russian Ukraine situation.

lazyengineer, which show? Haven't been to a good gun show in years and was planning on going to one. Use to go to the Fort Worth one all the time, it was free parking and $5 to get in. (not off topic, ammo acquisition related question!)

(not off topic, ammo acquisition related question!) View Quote They've gotten greedy at the Will Rogers convention hall show. Quite an investment just to walk in the door - to see overpriced ammo and AR15 after AR15. And hear some shrill lady screaming over the intercom about not taking pictures. You'd think they'b be laughing and skipping stones, what with all the money they are rolling in between admission fee's and the table fee's - but man, just unpleasant. All the Springfield XD's, Glocks, and AR15's you can shake a stick at. -A couple reloading tables, but no powder, a few bullets, one that had primers - at a reasonable price. -No full sized 9mm Walther P99's, but a couple of the Fugly new PQX or whatever. - A couple AK's. - 1 SKS, a couple Garands, a couple 1903's. A few hunting rifles, but not much. - Several tables with that new double magazine shotgun. - Lots of 1911's, and a few CZ's. - Sigs everywhere. - 2 ammo tables - no deals to be had at either. $80 boxes of .22 ammo. 7.62X39 was north of $5/box. - A table of ragged out odd-ball used reloading dies. -An M1D for $6000 (Sgt York's personal model no doubt, from when he was in the Spetnazi). $20 empty ammo cans (Though I did score a couple of beaters for $10 - if you can call that a score). - Some holster tables. - Some magazine tables (no deals). - All the same stock of common GI and PMags and Glock mags. No Lancers. - Some table with two really cool looking German STG44's, out on display, but with big signs about don't touch and not for sale. So... not sure what his goal was. Another table had the .22 version, which was neat. But who's interested in getting a .22 any more? - A few silencer tables and short barrel. - A .50 cal table, which was kind of neat. - Last time there was a guy selling these cool gun pads, with exploded diagrams on them. I remember well, as he closed that transaction deal over his wife, who was sprawled on the floor of the show behind the table, awaiting the paramedics. I shit you not. Anyway, he wasn't there this time. I wonder about that... -Not much NM for sale, and no brand name NM HighPower rifles. - If you are looking for a polymer pistol, lots and lots of those were there. - A couple of the ubiquitous jerky tables. - One or two Chinese optics tables, and a trijicon table (which are cool - but wow). - A few accessory tables. - 5 months ago there were many tables selling Frontier Arm's polymer lowers for really cheap. This month, not a single one to be found. Curious about that. - I picked up some pipe cleaners (decent price on those), and the empty ammo cans, and called it a day. Was still fun, but for >$15 just to park and get in the door, not really worth it to come back often. |
