Would anyone care to share the appropriate email contact over at Wolf?
anybody done a controlled test? just pull the bullet n powder, fire a good primer vs corrosive against sheet metal, see if it rusts

Since they are seeming like such a stand up company about this, then all my future ammo may just be wolf performance. I mean, some may say its a little dirty but I've never had a dud or issue with a single round they make.
Dude their quality control sucks in my opinion. They may be trying to make things right by allowing returns on the ammo but the right thing to do would have been to be sure the ammo was non corrosive before you printed "non corrosive" on the box and then sold it as such. I guarantee you there are going to be people who have their guns seriously rusted out because of this.
From now on I am going to try to stick to golden tiger.
Or you can buy Wolf MC right?
Does Golden Tiger even have any customer service?

He said the test came back with mixed results. Some of the primers tested positive for corrosion while others didn't. I didn't have a lot number of the ammo I bought, so James wasn't able to tell me if the ammo I bought was part of the corrosive batch. I'm guessing it is. I fired about 40 rounds of the Ukranian in a new rifle. After the range trip, I wiped down the internals with a cloth and ran a bore snake down the barrel twice. I normally do a thorough cleaning on my other rifles after every range trip, but this is an AK! After reading the posts, I pulled my rifle out and checked. The brand new bolt carrier in the brand new rifle was starting to show signs of corrosion.
This sucks. And, IMO, the ammo is corrosive, and those results aren't "mixed", unless differenciated by lot numbers on the case, and that the lot numbers correctly reflect the primer used 100% of the time. Checked mine' it's all stamped Russian. Whew.
If it's what I could get, I'd buy it as corrosive
at cheap corrosive ammo prices and then clean the gun per corrosive ammo guidelines. But, when you pay extra for non-corrosive it should be non-corrosive. Simple concept.

This is my second problem with Wolf brand ammo. Some years ago I had an issue with primers being blown out the back of the casing or almost blown back out of the casing. This caused the rifle to a jam few times as I remember it, so I stopped buying wolf for a while. I decided to give them another try since I have been shooting a lot lately and wanted some cheap practice ammo. Buying newly manufactured commercial ammo and finding it to be corrosive is unimpressive to say the least. I would rather spend a couple more cents per round for a brand that I haven't had these kind of issues with in the past. I don't want to shit on Wolf too much here since it sounds like the problem originated with their Ukrainian suppliers, but when I buy something and it doesn't work as advertised I'm not happy.
I can't speak about Golden Tiger's customer service as I have never had to contact them. I do believe there was a thread here recently where a representative was posting in this section in response to the video made by a member here which is now on their website,
http://goldentigerammo.com/index.html
I've got two cases of this I bought in March of this year. I contacted Wolf via email this afternoon, they responded
almost immediately asking what lot number I have. I just responded to their email this evening, I'll see what they
have to say tomorrow. My lot is number is 43s on both cases, in case anyone here is keeping track of that sort of thing.
It would be nice if we could get clarification on what lot numbers are affected. I imagine Wolf doesn't even know. What
kind of recourse would you have if somebody's Polytech or any other basically irreplaceable AK (without spending a ton of
cash at today's prices) was ruined or damaged enough to lose value?
Not sure if this has been said but that barrel looks far from done with. A little frosting is nothing as any C&R collector will tell you. Even some heavily pitted sewer pipes shoot well.
So Wolf customer service is telling me to look inside the individual boxes for the lot number after dumping 5 boxes I aint seeing shit for numbers inside. Tedious.
::edit::
looks like they aren't actually on the boxes per some other posts in this thread

Yeah, they said the same thing to me too. But Wolf is sending a UPS shipping lable for my half a case. So I'm happy with that and an exchange for "non-corrosive" ammo.

They told me to look inside the boxes too, but there is no Lot # at all on inside of them. It's only on the outside of the box I got when I bought half a case and took the large box it came in..
Funny eh? I think they know the lot number isn't there. I ordered 29 boxes from PSA so a half case + four boxes. Since my order included other stuff I didn't get any Wolf case/box. I replied telling them when and where I bought the ammo and that there are no lot numbers to be found. Told them I wanted to exchange the 500 rounds (I'll keep the random 4 boxes for the hell of it). They replied saying the return shipping labels will be mailed out today. Good customer service.

Am I right to assume that extra cleaning precautions are warranted with current lots of ukraine Wolf ammo?
For black powder guns, I have used (religiously) a 10:1 mix of Balistol & Water for the bore and then 50:50 on some of the action parts. Then finish up with Kroil in the bore.
Would there be any areas, besides the gas system, chamber, and bore that would need attention on the AK?
What type of box does Ukrainian Wolf come in?

Scrub the bolt as well.

don't forget the holes of any flash hider that may be attached
Shipped mine back yesterday. Should get there pretty quick. The documents that came with the return shipping labels said the replacement should take 3-4 weeks. Curious what I'll get in return. Probably some WPA.
The Klimovsk-made ammo is now coming back into stock. Widener's says the manufacturer installed corrosive primers by mistake and the new ammo is certified non-corrosive.
See
I just got confirmation that the ammo got delivered to Wolf. I hope the replacement comes soon. I do not have any 7.62x39 because the rifle I bought this for is my first chambered for that round.
wolf did every thing I ask of them I was made whole

Sent mine back to them today. Ready for my replacement ammo. Sure don't take long to get my label, so I imagine the ammo will be here pretty quick.

What, exactly, did you ask of them, if I may be so bold. If you are not allowed to say, or do not wish to say for personal/confidential reasons, I understand. Curious, is all
