Already finished the lower, but waiting on barrel and haven't ordered rail, gas tube, and a few miscellaneous parts. Although I know it's not necessary, I went with the enhanced BCG since the Stealth barrels seem to be a little gassy and it will be shot suppressed half the time. I have suppressed 3 other AR's including an SBR and have yet to have to use an adjustable gas block.

Lower
- Aero Precision forged receiver
- ALG parts kit
- CMC 3.5# single stage trigger
- Spike's mil-spec buffer tube assembly
- Spike's T2 buffer
- Magpul MOE SL stock
- Noveske QD end plate

Upper
- Aero Precision forged receiver
- Black Rain forward assist
- Black Rain ejection port cover assembly
- LaRue Stealth 16" barrel (M4)
- LaRue low-profile gas block & gas tube
- AAC 51t muzzle brake
- Geissele MK8 13" rail & barrel nut
- Lantac Enhanced BCG
- PRI Gas Buster charging handle (or BCM Mod4 ... Not sure yet)

Will mostly likely mount a Primary Arms 1-6x ACSS scope and if funds allow, Geissele Super Precision scope mount.
- Possible scope upgrades would be ACOG TA31ECOS or SWFA SS HD 1-6x24

alpha:  I'm a big believer in adjustable gas, for all AR rifles. It enables you to quickly adjust the operating impulse to the particular load you are shooting, no need to change our springs or buffers to get your rifle running right.  I really like my new SLR brand adjustable GB, it comes in all sizes and attachment types.  It has a very simple and durable design.

As for the handguard, check out Bravo Company's KMR line.  The mag alloy models are especially light, but more expensive.  The aluminum, models are identical, just a bit heavier.  good luck - CW

Looks good, but I'd wait until after election to buy/build, probably be some mega sales on at that time.

Thanks for the reply. I knew the gas block thing was coming. So, I did consider the SLR adjustable. However, the Stealth barrel from LaRue uses 3 oddball dimples that do not align exactly. I think SLR may have started making one specifically for the Stealth barrel but I couldn't find one.

So do you have to take your rail off every time you need to make an adjustment on the block?

I do like the KMR but I'm kind of sold on M-Lok for this build. Giessele rail is quite expensive but it's a Geissele made product and the barrel but is the best on the market IMO.

Keep em coming, I like to hear...

The only adjustable gas block I have came with an extended hex key to adjust it under a rail.

The one you need from slr is the one with .450 spacing and it adjusts from the front. On my guns I just use their long hex tool and adjust from under my rail from the muzzle end.

FYI, normally only one of those dimples has to match, typically the one closest to the port.  Most barrel makers only drill one dimple, for GB location.  In those cases, the other screw just abuts against the round journal.  Your set-screw type gas block will usually have two screws, but for sure one will be prime for best location on the barrel.  - CW

Yeah, this will be my 5th AR and I've got them in several configurations. Either both set screws used or 1 set screw (closest to port) and then pinned. If only 1 set screw is used I'm gonna want it pinned. Which I can get ADCO to do.

I am of the opinion that powder buffers are voodoo and you will be better served with a standard h2, or my preference an a5.

Maybe, but I've been using a T2 since my very first build and I've never experienced any issues. The only AR that doesn't have one is my 6.8 SPC

The issues it would cause , or I should say "that it doesn't fix", is carrier bounce. You most likely wouldn't know it was happening unless you were firing FA

Just to add, that one dimple should be directly opposite the gas port on the bbl. When the set screw gas block is made, they drill through the from the bottom to make the gas path into the upper part of the block that directs gas from the barrel's port into the tube. This same hole created in the bottom during this process is then used for the first set screw. There aren't any real reference points or standards for any other set screw locations. This one isn't a "standard" either. It's just a simplistic common point of reference for the easiest (cheapest) manufacturing method.

There is a very good chance that prices could skyrocket after the election.

This would be a very big gamble, with little to gain.

I am inclined to agree with Sput here. Depending on how the chips fall the day after the election, it could be a long time before you see parts readily available. If the worst happens, and if manufacturers are hoarding supplies to ramp up for any Black Friday sales, you'll no doubt see another record setting day in the gun industry.

Have you given the Vortex Strike Eagle a once over as an option for optics? I've never personally used one, but the following on here seems very positive. It is in the running as one of my options for a 16" Build I'm trying to gather parts for.

Yeah, I'm not one to wait. I'm afraid this election is not going to be in our favor. Even if a ban doesn't get through, we will see panic buying like never before. I don't NEED another AR but I kind of have a little worry myself, so I decided to build a 16" RECCE type since I don't have one already.

I have looked hard at the Strike Eagle. I own a few higher end Vortex scopes and love them. But when I picked up the Strike Eagle I wasn't impressed with the glass and it had noticble fish eye. I actually like the glass and sight picture better on the Primary Arms. But I'll give them all a closer look once I'm ready to buy, as optic will be last.
