What gas blocks are you guys using these days?  The reason I ask is that I was on Battle Arms Development's web site and saw those Titanium Gas Blocks that only weigh like .48-.58 ounces.  I'm sure there are other manufacturers of titanium ones as well.  Are Titanium Gas blocks good? I realize this is subjective, but if used with a lightweight profile barrel, will it make it TOO light out front and maybe make the muzzle hop around a bit more?  Folks have always told me to stay away from gas blocks that are not steel as they can erode or be unreliable.  So I was just trying to figure if I should stick with something like a steel Daniel Defense or Vltor, or maybe I should be trying something new?  Any recommendations of what I might look into?

Faxon Firearms makes a nice lightweight steel gas block.  I've installed 3 so far with zero issues.

Stick with steel, or titanium if you want to go lighter.  Those two aren't going to erode like an aluminum block will.

Thanks for the replies.  After doing some more reading on Titanium I think I'll stick with steel for this build.  I'll probably just go with an Vltor clamp.  I usually either go pinned or clamp.  Nothing against them, but for myself, I don't particularly care for the set screw type.
