Well, one of the last pieces of the puzzle that is my first AR came in the mail today. The
ATI AR-15 X2 Scorpion Recoil Pistol Grip.
This thing looks cool. (Or should I say "tacti-cool")
And that is the only reason I bought it.
There is really no place near me to try out different grips. So, I had no idea if I would like it or not.
I took it out of the box and gripped it. It felt really good. Nice contour. Firm and comfortable.
And then ..... I installed it.
I have ... maybe ... average sized hands. Once installed, I couldn't reach the safety without letting go of the grip and turning the gun a bit.
After realizing that, I studied it a bit more. I am still waiting for my MBT trigger group to arrive. But I could see that this grip would cause me to reach for the trigger as well.
(EDIT: Nor can I reach the mag release.)
It's just too big for my hands. I would go so far as to say that it's too big for most people's hands.

So, what grip do you recommend for a noob with average hands? (7" from heel of the palm to tip of mid finger)(I can just see eveyone rushing for a tape measure
)
I have a cheap plastic one that came in my lower build kit. It has a major fitment issue and a hollow base I don't like.
Maybe the MOE?
