I have always been content do to complacency with standard mil spec triggers.  Didnt think of other possibilities but then I started a light weight build which I have literally been planning on paper for two years.  I have written down so much damn data it makes me head spin.  I walk into gun stores and ask if they have a digital scale in back so I can weigh a grip and they look at me as if I just asked them if they prefer soy milk over fat free.

Anyway, I picked up a cmc 3.5lbs pull single stage.  I say god damn jacky chan, it's another world i didnt even know existed.

It's was only 175 smackers too.  I read nothing but awesom reviews for the price, people out there even stack it up to the giessle (ya it's spelled wrong) SSA, and in my head I'm thinking,"isn't that fucker a' two stage trigger?!?" who gives a shit, so I bought he cmc.

I know I'm ranting now, but I can't convey enough, it's like having missionary sex your whole life and finally learning dogs do it better.

I will never have a mil spec trigger again.

I put a CMC 3.5lb straight trigger in my first AR build and absolutely love it, I am so happy that I decided to use this trigger especially after shooting a couple buddies rifles with mil-spec triggers.

Congrats on the trigger and sorry to see your post got shit on, OP. Personally, I don't see how anyone could "prefer" a milspec trigger over any of the proven aftermarket offerings, unless they also "prefer" sour grapes over sweet ones.

I have Geissele and LaRue triggers, but I did get to mess with a 3.5lb flat-bow CMC trigger on my FFL's personal AR, and was very impressed with it.

You picked a good trigger. That's about what I paid for each of them.

I've got 3 CMC 3# flat triggers installed in 3 rifles and love em every bit.

Ive got the same trigger in my AR. I love it....

No takeup and short reset. breaks like a glass rod.

OP, you made a good choice, especially when there are so many good triggers out there to choose from.

I have not tried the CMC trigger yet but I am huge fan of nice triggers.

two stage on longer range, heavier, prone rifles and single stage on all my other rifles.

my two stage choice is Larue MBT followed by RRA and my single stage in timney.

I love timney 4lb. crisp break and very short reset

I don't understand how buying an upgraded trigger is "manning up"  Please explain?

I cant speak for a actual drop in trigger, but i went from a mil spec lpk trigger, then a JP trigger parts/yellow springs (great trigger), then a HSNM DMR.  it cost me cause now all my ar's have upgraded triggers

I upgraded my trigger also a few weeks ago, and I tightened up my groups A LOT.
After 30+ years of shooting AR's I finally have a nice trigger.
And it's really better living a dogs life...

Hit the nail on the head. Spending big $$ on a trigger for the first time hurts, but after awhile that sting goes away, then the problem is NOT spending money on triggers for every rifle

Congrats on the upgrade OP, I am sure you will continue to enjoy it!

Also, I am in the same boat as you with the lightweight build, it almost became a game to find lightweight parts!

Problem is, I wasn't reading anything into it, that was why I asked?

Just wanted a little clarification as to how, or why that was "manning" up

It was just his choice or words, if he said he "bit the bullet" would you ask which bullet he bit? If he said he "took the leap" would you ask how far he lept?

Again, just his choice of words.

Perhaps "pulled the trigger" might've been literal and descriptive enough for DaveP1's tastes.

You guys are as bad as my wife, I simply asked a question, because the context didn't fit the statement, I still don't understand how buying a trigger is manning up!  Christ!

I would post a pic of the build but I forget how to up load here.  It's been a while.  Don't I have to use a separate file host?

Yes, I believe you have to you something like photobucket.com.  I believe I have the same trigger that I got with my Ares Armor Archimedes Enhanced Lower Parts Kit.  Mine works awesome.  I hope you like yours.

Waiting on the fde minimalist stock to arrive, and all the lower small parts from V7.

See what I mean about the FDE?  The midwest rail looks more like bronze then FDE.  I dont know if it really bothers me that much.  Time will tell.

That Pmag is meant to be dyed with rit dye.   On my to do list.

Overall, the stick feels exceptionally light.  Dont have a digital scale to tell me...ill get my hands on something.  Its for sure under 6 and I still dont have the light BCG from aimsurplus.  Whenever they come in stock and I get notified it will be the easiest $120 spent.  Wish all parts were realistically priced like that.

Next thing you need to man up and buy is an Aimpoint or MRO red dot sight. Nice looking rifle you have there.

You triggered people.....................

I am one of them too.  Buying a good trigger is very costly if you have more than one rifle.  Buying to just give it a try gets expensive fast.  One turned into 5 so fast, I lost all my lunch money.

Now I have two MBTs on the shelf and I don't know which rifle to put them in.

Got one on the way from the EE and three on the way from you guys. I'm actually going to have a spare left over if I don't act a fool and start another build.

Welcome to the snobbery. Sorry that all of the rest of your triggers will now also have to suffer replacement.
