I just snagged a carry handle upper and now want to put together a 10.5" CAR-type upper with a pinned A2 FSB.  I think I'm preferring a chrome lined barrel but I guess melonited one would be fine also.  

I have my SBRs now so I am looking for a little range toy that has that retro shorty look.  I think it is the rifle that Al Pacino used in the movie Heat!!

Any recommendations on where to find one of these at a good price right now?  I just need a barrel only with the taper-pinned FSB already installed.

Just saw PSA has a 10.5" melonited/nitrided with barrel nut, delta ring and pinned FSB for 160.00

For that kinda price you really can't beat it. However, there were a couple LMT 10.5 barrels with pinned fsp in the EE recently for very reasonable prices. I know because I bought one of them . They were all around $200 or less. Snagged mine for $150.

I just spent the past couple of weeks searching for 10.3 barrels that come with a standard fsb. Also looked at 10.5 and over to have chopped to 10.3.

I found very few 10.5 chrome lined barrels with a fsb. None were under $200. PSA seemed to have been the best choice.

I went with a colt chrome lined barrel I got for $200 on gun broker. Plan to send it to ADCO to have it chopped to 10.3.

Lots of 10.5 barrels for sale, just very few come with a fsb already installed.
