I just ordered the matching Cross Machine & Tool Matching Billet set with the ambi lower.  I am going to use this as the basis for a precision type/ bench rifle.  From everything i have seen, these are top notch quality.  I am planning on using all top shelf components.  I am still open to the exact style that I will be doing.  I do know that I want an 18" barrel, either Noveske, Wilson Combat, or similar.  Obviously a Geisele 2 stage.  I'll be updating this thread and posting pics as I get the components.  Now it will be interesting to see if this, or my SBR is finished first since I am waiting on my stamp.

This is my CMT billet build:
Wilson Combat Ultra Match Wylde barrel
Hyperfire 2# trigger
Magpul PRS stock
Have since replaced the handguard with a Geillele MK8
Shoots real good! Couldn't be happier. Am in the process of building a second upper with CMT billet upper, Lilja 204 Ruger barrel and Superlative Arms piston kit. Good Luck!  Vic

Op, you and I are building the same rifle. I'm using a San Tan Tactical for the receivers, a LaRue Stealth 18" barrel, and a Geissele super dynamic enhanced trigger. I've got a SLR Solo handguard in the mail and just down to some small bits left to get. I'm waiting for Magpul to release their UBR 2.0 stock as I've made up my mind that's what's going on it. Not to sure on glass, but leaning toward the Leupold Mark AR 6X18. Good, but not too expensive. Good luck with your build OP!

I just got my set in last night.  I also took some pick next to a spikes lower I have to compare.  Pics dont do the machining justice.

I'm starting to look at parts now for a parts list.  Who are the top 3 barrel makers?

I dig that ambi mag release.

Top 3 barrel makers is subjective, but you're generally looking at Kreiger, Bartlein, Lilja.  Also excellent is Shilen, Rock Creek.

Lots of quality precision barrels out there. I have barrels from Krieger, Shilen, Lilja, PacNor and Wilson Combat. All are accurate and easy to clean. Really can't go wrong with any of them or the others mentioned in the previous post. Depends on what length and contour you are interested in and current availability. Good shooting! Vic

My next project will be based on the CMT ambi lower receiver (ordered and received 3 of these last week). Trying to gather other missing parts for this next project.

Thanks for the info on barrel makers.  I want a match barrel, but do not want a bull barrel, I want to run a break and suppressor some times.  And I think 18" unless there is a definitive reason for 20 for my needs.  I also want to run one of the thin ff handguards flike the KMR or Geisseles rail.  I also like the look of the round carbon fiber rails with the rail extended down them.  obviously I am still in the planning stages, but i just want NICE dream build.

I used the VSeven forward assist, port door and door rod. Damn nice and I doubt it could be made any lighter. Debating between the Rainier REST safety and the VSeven 3-gun ambi safety.

I am picking them for lightweight to balance the heavy nature of the gun, but also because I am going to Cerecote the gun, and want the look of the raw titanium to have the look I am going for.

All my VSeven parts came but the rail, which I haven't ordered yet.  The VSeven Heavy Buffer is tough.  My Fortis Hammer and the Ruger MSR stock I purchased from a Precision Rifle owner also came in this week.

Just purchased my 2A Armament Pivot and takedown pins.  I like the look of these.  I am going to work on sanding off the Ruger markings from the polymer parts of the stock this evening.

Getting ready to order my V7 16.6" enlightened Rail for the build.  Then, I will have everything that will be going to get Cerekoted.  I'm still unsure of the color.  I'm really leaning towards Tungsten.  I want it to have a high end look. Let me know any suggestions, and if possible attache picks of high end looking ARs.

Civtactical.com, uses Shilen blanks stands by his work. Lilja great barrels and even nicer people. Performance Firearms makes Bartlien, 18" intermediate gas system it's pricey but all Bartlien barrels are. JP Rifles make good barrels too.

Pac-Nor barrels are Noveske,

Good Luck, I'm sure you'll be happy with what ever you choose.

Thanks,  I just ordered the rail.  Last parts on my list are Geissele NM Trigger and the Barrel.  Im going to go ahead and get to Cerekote when I get the rail in.  Then after that, I'll be onto glass selection. I think my budget will be around $1k.  for that.

The Noveske NSR 16.7" rails should deliver tomorrow as should the Geissele National Match Trigger.

Ive really been contemplating finishes.  I like Cerekote Tungsten, Sniper Grey, but I really like the TFS NiB Battleworn finish but Im a bit concerned about cost.  I think it would look awesome with all of my raw titanium parts.

I finally am to the point, and I have decided on after many emails, back and forth, to go with CIVtactical.  He is going to build me a custom barrel from a Shilen blank.  He is also going to do a blueprinting of my upper, not that it should need much work, due to it being an CMT.  But I think thhis thing is going to be a beast, now, I need to get some pro lessons on long range shooting techniques.  I dont think I'll be able to come near its accuracy threshold.  .

Okay, I ordered my Syrac Gen 2 Gas block, Geissele Scope mount for the Night Force BR, the Wilson Combat Muzzle Break for the Whisper, and the Sharps BC.  I have also been communicating with who I am having my Cerekote done with, as soon as my EO Grip arrives, the receivers, rail, buffer tube, and stock will be shipped out!  Should be this week.

I am alos going to order and pay for my CIV Tactical Barrel, so once my parts get done I can ship the upper to CIV for his magic.  This build is getting closer!!!!

What cerakote color are you thinking?  I had a GLOCK 35 done in Sniper grey and nothing done in tungsten yet.  The Sniper Grey is a good contrast to black.

I ordered and received my Geissele Super Precision Scope mount for the Nightforce 12-42 x 56 Benchrest scope that i ordered.  I also received my Executive Ordnance grip.  My parts are shipping off this week to Mad Custom Coatings.  I also ordered my LRA bipod.  Most importantly, I also put down the deposit and got the ball rolling on the CIV Tactical Barrel.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel...    My wallet is in extreme pain though......

Just Received my Bi-pod.  I decided on the LRA (Long Range Accuracy) F-Class.  It is an amazing piece of engineering.  The legs are carbon fiber.  THe rest is aluminum.  Excellent machining.  It is flawlless.  Unfortunately the photos do not do it justice.

Got a call last week that my build was being Cerekoted that day.  Mad Cusom Coating is shipping my upper parts directly to CIVTactical.  He already has the 22" barrel profiled.  I cant wait to get the lower and parts back to get working on the build.  I cant believe its almost complete!  Parts list in previous post in this thread is still accurate.  Here are my accessories.  I have everything in my safe waiting...

Nightforce Benchrest 12-42 x 56 mounted with a Geissele Super Precision Mount.
LRA F-Class Bipod.
Nightforce Angle Degree Indicator
Mounts Plus Anti Cant level
Zero Bravo REOS

I received the CMT lower, and stock components from Mad Custom Coating earlier this week.  I got it built.

Then in the mail at my office a few minutes ago the upper arrived!!!  I cannot wait to get it home and put together.
