Needing a handguard for a Mega billet matched set w/ LaRue 16" mid-length barrel.

I know that some rails don't work with Mega uppers because they are a little heavy in material.

I'm currently thinking about a Mega Wedge Lock.

Anybody running one?  How reliable and effective is the adcual wedge locking system?

I haven't seen a whole lot of people talking about these yet.

Also, what length would I need for a mid lenth barrel?  I usually run a 10" handguard with middies, looks like the closest thing Mega makes is a 9" though...

Any opinions welcome, thanks.

Just put one on a build I did for my dad.  Locks up pretty damn solid. very easy install and looks great on the mega billet set.  Very pricey though.  Slightly on the heavier side compared to other rails but its built very well and very ergonomic in the hand.  The length is really an extra 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch longer than stated.

Personally I like full length rails so I'd get the 14 inch but I'd at least get the 12.  no way would I get the 9 on a 16 inch barrel but thats just me!

Thanks.

Yea I'm a little torn on the length.  Personally, I'm not a run-the-handguard-all-the-way-to-the-muzzle type guy, I like some barrel exposed.

it would be nice if they had an 11".

Maybe the 12", assuming it really is 12", would be fine.

It'll really be about 12.5 but on a 16 inch midlength it'll probably give you the look you want.

slight thread hijack:

I've looked at these and my only concern was clearance under the handguard for a sentry7 gas block.

I like the low profile forearms, just concerned about the ID of some of them.

I'll be running a LaRue low profile gas block, so should be OK.
