After six months my build is finally done.  Without going all out on lightweight parts it came in at 5 lb 11 oz including the optic with no mag. Right at 6 lb with the mag.  Was also friendly to my budget.  Took advantage of sales and no single part was over $165.  Even got a few things for Christmas!

Upper:
Aero no FA upper receiver
Faxon 416R pencil barrel
Aero midlength gas tube
Spikes micro .625 gas block
Spikes Dynacomp 2
Fortis Rev II 12 M Lok
AIM Evo 3.0 BCG
Fortis Hammer charging handle
Atibal MCRD w Fortis F1 mount
Lower:
Aero gen 2 lower receiver
Spikes buffer kit with T2 buffer and Fortis QD end plate
MFT minimalist stock
CMC single stage 3.5lb trigger, KNS pins
BAD titanium pins, ambi safety, extended mag release
Strike Industries trigger guard, mag catch, bolt catch
Hexmag pistol grip and mag

Brings a tear to my eye.

Waiting for my first lower, so, I'm behind the game.

I probably spent around $1000 and got the stock, red dot with mount, bcg, and comp for Christmas which would have been another $450 or so.

Aero upper
Aero lower
Cmmg lpk
Rainier arms handguard
Midwest ind. covers
Midwest ind. Buis
Aim bcg
Voodoo barrel 16 inch midgas
Seekins flash hider
Magpul moe SL stock
Moe + grip
Vortex reddot in a factory aimpoint mount
Heavy ass 6px in a Blackhawk mount.

Did it all with black friday deals and sales from last year and this spring.  I think it was something stupid cheap like 800 bucks.

Another aero/aim/voodoo combo.

A very attractive build. Nice work (and good choice of barrel!)

Great looking. How did you get the hand guard for cheap? It's listed for 220 on their wep page. After looking forever that's the one I have my mind set on. But would be sweet to get a deal on it.

Great looking rifle. I'm a big fan of Fortis products. I have the same optic mount and am wondering why you have it so far back on the rail?

Great looking rifle.  I was going to ask you about an issue I'm having with the AIM 3.0 BCG, but you're not running a dust cover.  I've not shot mine yet as I'm still waiting on the barrel, but carefully hand cycling the bolt does not pop the dust cover open.  It bumps it, but not enough to get it over the detent.

Thanks.  Primary Arms had a 4th of July sale where it was around $150.

Thanks. I really just threw it on there for pics. Where should it be placed?

Thanks. Not sure what to tell you on that issue though.  Maybe someone that's more of an expert than I am could help.

Very nice lightweight rig dude.  I have used Faxon barrels on my last two builds and I am a fan.  Aero makes good stuff too -- I use their uppers on all my builds.

As far foward as possible on the receiver, before the handguard. One of the pluses of non-magnified red dots is unlimited eye relief, meaning you can have it as close or far away from your eye as you want. The farther away it is, the more your cheek-to-stock position can vary and still see the dot. The cantilevered design of this mount adds to that, and looks slick as shit.

I just noticed your pic post in the "show off your builds" thread. The very next pic post has the same mount further forward.

Just saw it. I need to play around with it this week. Hopefully going to the range.

Looks great!  I'm looking to build a lightweight 14.5" rig here soon, and will definitely take some ques from this build.
