About a year ago I bought an upper/lower set from San Tan Tactical to use on a build for my brothers Christmas present. Because we're both lefties I wanted to put together a very ambidextrous setup. I found San Tan and was impressed by the design. When I got to he STT-15 set the fit n' finish was great and it just really seemed to be a great setup. Well, when I got it together I realized that there was a problem with the mag release on the left side of the gun. Those of you familiar with the product will probably know the part I'm referring to, it's the one that is hinged via a roll pin and extends down to about where your finger rests. In theory it's a great idea, in reality it does not work because if I tighten the mag release on the left side enough to make it work the right side doesn't because the button is sucked in too much. And vice versa. I finally removed the left side ambi feature and just run the standard mag release but it looks like crap. I can obviously see what the problem is and so I contacted Dennis at San Tan who quickly sent me out a replacement part. I was skeptical that it would fix the problem but he's the designer not me. Unfortunately it didn't fix the issue so I attempted to contact him again (several times now) and have left several messages and still nothing. So, question 1: have any of you guys had a similar issue with the STT-15? And 2: have you had a similar problem pertaining to customer service? Bear in my mind I don't have ample time to spend on this so my efforts to  have been spread out over more than a year now. I know, pathetic. I appreciate your responses. I just want to find a way to get this darlin in action because it a great looking/shooting gun.

Mine works fine but I have only limited time on it so far. By far my nicest set. Tag for updates.

Eta - they went above what I expected in facilitating the order of my set and even allowed me a sale price post sale. I was very pleased with my experience with them

I have not experienced any issues. However, I know that my mag release is not screwed on as far as yours (on the right side or non-ambi side). Have you tried backing it out a bit?

I have one and haven't had an issue. I did have a different issue with a blemished lower and the front take down pin sticking. He was quick to have me send it in and swapped all my parts to a new lower and send it back. Really couldn't tell that it was a grenade lower other than a tiny mark inside the lower hidden when the upper was on.

I should have annotated that the receivers in the pics aren't mine. They're jacked from the interweb. I didn't have pictures accessible when I wrote the post. But, to answer your question, I have tried that several times moving it in and out various distances. It seems like the geometry is off just a bit but I can't say for sure.

The collective experiences with STT seem to be pretty good. To tell you the truth I kind of expected that because when Ive talked with the guy he was VERY nice and helpful. I guess Ill just try him again.

You should be able to send the lower into Dennis and he should take care of it.
