I'm putting together a light weight build and I'm getting into some territory unfamiliar to me.
I've got most of the parts already but when it comes to setting things up with a Ti carrier I'm a little lost.
I'm looking for advice from those in-the-know on what buffer spring and buffer to use. By default, I'm leaning towards a std. carbine spring and buffer. I'm not planning on using an adjustable gas block at this point unless I absolutely should.
Going for a quality build and shaving ounces where possible.
Here's a brief rundown of the major build components:
2A BALIOS-Lite upper & lower.
14.5" Faxon MID-LENGTH Pencil barrel (1:8 and I shoot 55gr almost exclusively).
V7 Ti .625 Gas Block
V7 Ti BCG
BCM 10" KMR HG w/V7Ti barrel nut.
V7 Lightweight Upper & Lower parts
Milspec Carbine 6-pos buffer tube w/Rogers Spartan stock

You will more than likely need a heavier buffer with that lightweight carrier, which kinda defeats the purpose. Or an adjustable gas block.

Sorry, I forgot to mention the barrel is MID-LENGTH gas. I'll edit the OP to add that.

If you decide to go the adjustable gas route, you might want to wait for this:

6 oz stripped, and it's adjustable.  Hopefully will be available soon.

That's the thing; how do I know if I have to go adjustable or not? I read conflicting info in the threads. Some go LW BCG's & buffers w/o it and say it's no problem and smooth/soft shooting. Do the components of my build dictate this or do I just go shoot it and see how it works? Difficult to change gas block after pinning FH.

You won't know if you need the adjustable gas block until you need it. If you're concerned, I would buy and install one pre-pinning the muzzle device.

A second route would be to go with a Manimal Flash Hider. This will leave your options open.

Do I need to be concerned?

Manimal FH won't work with .625 profile gas block which is what I have.

I do like the 2A adjustable carrier wheel posted a link to above but still don't know if I need it.

Faxon posted they used .081 gas port for midlength barrels, which is in the range of many manufactures (I have others with .078-.085" ports)  However I can tell you have a middy with a .068" gas port that cycles fine with standard weight components.  You probably want to use an adjustable gas system (gas block or gas key) if your running a lightweight BCG and/or buffer.

You have a high chance of needing an adjustable gas block if you don't want to increase buffer weight.  If you stick with lower pressure .223 loads you might not need it, but as you ramp into 5.56 pressure ammunition you may start extracting too early and sticking cases.

As an alternative you might ask Faxon to make you a barrel with a small gas port and then open it yourself if needed.

What is the weight on the V7 Ti carrier?  How does it compare with the BoomFab Ti Carrier?  I assume it's lighter than a standard cut titanium like the RedX or AIM.

Get the adj gas as others mentioned. It will make tuning easier and cheaper

V7 Ti carrier is 5.7oz. BoomFab Ti carrier is 4.28oz. The V7 Ti carrier is just a little lighter than most of the lo-mass steel ones so I thought it was a good LW compromise without going too extreme.
My regular ammo is 55gr PMC for plinking up through the occasional 55gr XM193. 55gr is all I use, FWIW.
