I got a case of paralysis by analysis. I wanted to start with an 80% lower, finish it then build my first rifle. I did research to the point where I couldn't decide which lower and jig to start with. So, went to the local gun show and started buying stuff.

Got this stuff first...



With the help of YouTube I built my first lower in about an hour being ultra careful to not make any mistakes. Since this was my first build I wanted to do it fairly inexpensively. I figured if I screwed something up I wouldn't have a pile of money into a piece of crap. Found a great deal on an upper from PSA, some FDE Magpul furniture and got it built. I did learn that there's not really much to screw up and since everything is modular and replaceable I could have splurged a bit on some things. Lesson learned which was the point of this build anyway. I haven't fired it yet. I need to get to the range and do so soon.

The second lower will be built into a pistol. I'm very much looking forward to that build.

I'm very pleased with everything that went into this pistol except the Kak stuff. The finish on it seems delicate. It's already flaking off in places. I touched it up with a sharpie. Just got it built tonight. Hopefully I can fire it this weekend.
