Hi All!

Finally finished by AR pistol and SBR builds; now looking to the future. My prior SBR upper turned out no so well; ended up stripping and selling. One of the parts I removed was the KX3. The inner cone is something I know wears down.

While I had only about 500 rounds through my first upper build, taking apart the KX3, cleaning it, did leave me impressed that the cone is something that needs to remain in stock as a backup. The outer part does not seem to wear down, as long as it is cleaned and threads protected with lithium grease. Plus I did have both Cerakoted last year to remove the pig and other Noveske propaganda. Anyway, following the instructions included, I called Noveske today to see if I could order extra cones.

The answer I received was that they do not sell the cones by themselves! Ok, then I asked who makes compatible inner cones for the KX3? No answer to that one.

So now the answer is tossed out to the AR15 forum. I am looking for two extra cones (NEW) that fit the KX3. I have no plans for a silencer as I like the set up I have. The KX3 looks so cool under then rail I have no plans to change it out. I even engineered, then had made by those that know how to, a titanium washer that fits over the inner cone and has a outer diameter that fits flush. When shooting, the coefficient of expansion allows the titanium to heat up enough to keep the inner cone from coming loose; so no need for the wire retaining ring. Plus, I must say, it does look nice on the gun and SBR. Match that up with a titanium pins and forward assist, it blings the heck out of these toys. Can't imagine having anything fancier in my life! You can keep the sports cars, give me a sweet AR and I am happy all days.

Did not know that.  Kinda surprising.

Guess that'll be a lathe project for me down the road.  lol
