It'll be my first rail install so should be a good time. I'll post pics of the end result.

Why aren't you doing it now instead of writing about it?

Hahaha. I don't have my rile with me currently. My buddy is taking off the fixed front sight and replacing the gas block for me. I don't have the tools for that

Just cut down your FSB, no need for a LPGB.

Howcome?

You cut down your front sight base and grind it to a nice low profile shape, paint it, and you've got the most structurally sound low profile gas block available. It retains the taper pins instead of using set screws.

What's wrong with using a low profile gas block though?

Nothing.

However, if you already have an FSB installed on a barrel putting a low pro gas block on is added cost. A pinned front sight base is more secure than a set screw or even a clamp on gas block. Cutting down the front sight base enough to fit under a rail is pretty simple.
