so i just got a shiny new pof ar-10 for a great deal from my local ffl
this will probably be my long range precision rifle or more like a dmr
comes with a magpul str but i wanted a fixed stock
i really like the idea of a the PRS but i would have to change out the buffer tube for a standard rifle one

so i guess what im asking as whats the best economical (i understand the prs isn't exactly economical)  fixed precision stock for the money that goes on a carbine buffer tube?

thanks!

Magpul fixed carbine stock, then add the cheek riser of your choice. You can also add PRS butt pads onto it for longer LOP.

hmm i might do that, i saw a video on them and they seemed quite short.
like collapsible buttstock all they way in short.
do you think the pads will be enough to compensate?

The length is the same as a MOE on the second setting, so not all the way short. You can add 1/2" at least with the new buttpad. I have 4 of them and love them.

don't really want a telescoping stock, theres always a little bit of wiggle
i want a fixed stock that fits on a carbine buffer tube. so that way i don't have to replace the buffer tube on there

One thing to realize is that any stock on a AR10 is going to have about a 3/4" longer LOP than on a AR15 because of the length of the receiver behind the grip.
I have 2 of the fixed carbine stocks on AR15's and love them. They are quite solid. I did bite the bullet and installed a standard buffer tube on my S&W MP 10
for the same reasons as you. Right now it is wearing an ACE ARFX skeleton stock which I like. I also like the fixed rifle stock too. I also have a PRS stock and
my only complaint is weight. Just try several and decide what works for you.

good point, ill have to shoot it first and see where i like the stock, in this case the fixed moe might be perfect

Checkout posts by "mist wolf" on m4 carbine.net. He used  piece of pvc pipe to lengthen the fixed carbine stock on his MP

i like the moe rifle stock, i hate adjustable ones so thats what i built my carbine with, and changing out a buffer tube isent horribly hard

agreed, ive built a few ar's before but since its a nice premium rifle. I didn't want to give myself the opportunity to fuk something up.
plus i have a couple of different carbine buffer weights so i can always swap them out if i have a problem

Not too terribly much more than a PRS, and since you don't have to retrofit to the rifle setup you come ahead.

Indeed, certainly something to consider
