Other members have reported the Crane O ring that is in the spec sheet was not installed on the ones they received, Others have reported the extractor spring collapsed in short order.  If you ordering a BCM extractor kit, are comfortable doing the install, and paying shipping on both it is not really a deal anymore.

Good catch. I forgot about that. I do have the spare parts in the bin to upgrade it when it fails.

picked one up

they've noticed the o ring issue and are apparently correcting it, it's on the order page.

Any worse?

I have one and so far it has worked correctly. I will admit that it has only ran about 20 rounds of 5.56 and another 10rds of .300.

I have an early one from AIM that has the smiley face on it and is more smooth/shiny finish, This one is more matte finish and a little more "fuzzy" finish.

I like both....I haven't seen any of the more recent ones from AIM.

Got mine in today and it looks pretty good. I haven't taken it apart yet to look for the o-ring. I put it in the spare parts bin towards the next build. If it works without it fine, if not, I got plenty of spare o-rings.

Any worse?

I have two and needed to replace the extractor spring in both (yes, the o-ring was present in each)...

The site says they've fixed the issue and are making right the ones that were bad. Would this BCG be good to go? I want to grab one before they run out, says they have 130 left in stock. I don't think I'll find a better price on a NiB BCG right now.

Any difference in them? It's not a deal breaker, but I like the Ares logo on theirs.

Does the logo make it more reliable?

I have one from the first run and so far I have put over 2,000 rounds through it without a problem.

It does not, at least not that I'm aware of. It is aesthetically pleasing to me. If the Aim Surplus BCG has proven to be more reliable, thats the one I would go with.

I would go with the treated BCG over the coated one and with a company that firmly stands behind what it sells

I have the AIM one and ordered this Ares one. I like the Ares Arms NiB better. AIM functions just great though.
