I am needing some input if anyone has this barrel and what they think of it. I am looking at the Rainer Arms 14.5 barrel chf mountain series in the carbine length cause they do not offer in mid length. I need something durable cause I do not baby my guns. I considered a 416r stainless barrel but not sure how well it would hold up. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hammer forged barrels will last the longest. Think battle rifles.

Stainless will generally be more accurate but not last as long. Think match grade rifles.

I think rainier mountain series only offers a carbine gas barrel because mid length barrels are not milspec. They are geared toward battle, duty rifles.

I'd look at bcm and Daniel defense for hammer forged barrels. Not sure if they make a mid length.  

Yea. All they offer is carbine gas not a mid length gas barrel. I really could go either way with it. It seems everyone has a different pereferance. All I want is a mean AR. You will not see which it has cause my gas blockblock it is going to be under my cmr rail.
