I was wondering if anyone had any experience when matching an upper receiver to a smith and wesson lower. I'm looking for a brand/manufacturer that could match the lower's fit and finish. I wish smith sold just the upper receiver so the match would be easy. I've heard that spikes tactical and stag arms match fit and finish well. Any other experiences?

I have put some of the psa uppers on my SW lower and it fit great and the color match is good

I recently matched a YHM upper to an Anderson mfg lower and the fit and finish was superb. Both were purchased from Cheaper Than Dirt on sale.

You could always watch for a smith upper in the EE. Finishes vary from manufacturer and different batches within manufacturers so it's honestly a crap shoot whether your receivers will match. The best thing to do is not care and shoot the shit out of it or get them coated together.

The S&W Sport receivers I recently traded for were incredibly tight fitting and needed a bit of fitting to get them where you could actually push the takedown pin through.

The takedown lug on the upper half needed to be thinned down slightly to get them to work happily.

There have been a few off the EE and if you can be patient, you'll get them.
