I am in the middle of building a pistol.  I want to use a 10" SLR Rifleworks M-LOK rail with a Geiselle .750 Low profile Gas block.  I will be using a 10.5" barrel.  Should I use a Pistol tube from SLR at 6.625" or a 9.75" carbine tube?

Sorry for the noob question this is my first build and I want to do it right the first time.

Wouldn't that depend on the location of gas port in the barrel you are buying?

This, it depends completely on where the gas port is located.  On a 10.5" barrel in 5.56 it's usually located at the carbine sight.  In .300 blackout it's probably located at the pistol position.

ETA: How do you get to 6,000 posts on AR15.com without knowing this?

By reading. interacting and asking questions.  I am man enough to admit when I don't know something.  I think we all know we don't just come here for gun talk...

I have two ARs but they are both Colt Factory jobs and I havent had to do any mechanic work on them.

Any how back on topic.

I would go with carbine gas on a 10.5" barrel.
