Brown Santa just dropped off my Noveske 13.7" Infidel Barrel, and my 13" BCM KMR!
Waiting on a KX5. Built an Infidel clone a while back using a Rainier barrel, KX3, 13.5" NSR and a VLTOR MUR1A upper. 
This one will consist of the following: Noveske N4 Upper Noveske Infidel Barrel Noveske KX5 BCM KMR 13 Can't wait to finish this one up. And yes, Noveske KX5 on a 13.7" barrel is not the proper use for it, etc. Thank you in advance. I know. I'll update with pics as it comes along. Don't have a lot of free time, but, figured I'd start a new thread. |

So, I mocked it up, just to see what it looked. To be honest, I like the NSR better for this setup. The 13" KMR leaves too much of the Pig exposed, and I think I will be going with the NSR on this build. In terms of the KMR system, I like it. Pretty simple setup, no pain in the ass aligning like the NSR. Seems durable, but the finish is definitely not up to Noveske standards. I tapped on the end of the KMR with my trusty wood mallet and looks like it flaked a bit. 
Not worried about it. Not sure if I'll go with the Noveske NSR 13.5" on the build or the 13" KMR. I feel like The Pig needs a blanket. |

I appreciate how you tried to preemptively put a stop to the folks who always make their way into a KX3/KX5 thread and preach what the proper use is. Sounds like it should be a great upper. I did a build a while back and asked for advice on how to pin and weld the kx3. It turned into a lesson for the proper use of the kx3 and how its useless on a 13.7" barrel. I explained my aesthetic reasoning for it and how i understood the physics and properties etc.
It was like a circle of stupid. "Anything longer than 12"s is stupid to use a kx3" "No, anything longer than 10's is stupid" blah blah blah. I felt like i was in a skit for Spinal Tap. "This one goes to 11" "Why not just buy a bigger amp?" "This one goes to 11." And, i still do not understand how the KX3 or KX5 would be classified as a flash hider when it produces a fireball. But, we'll save that for another episode of Spinal Tap. |

I made the decision to stick with the BCM KMR, and when they come out with the 15", i will put it on.
The pin and weld came out great, was going to grind the bead off the weld, but, i like the looks of it. Just drilled the pig, timed it, drilled a bit of thread, dropped in a piece of coat hanger and zapped it. 
Haven't shot it yet, but, not expecting any issues. All quality parts. |

I finally got to put some down the tube. Posted this in the build it yourself thread, i forgot i started this one. Noveske 13.7 infidel barrel Noveske gen 1 upper bushmaster preban lower bcm kmr rail at 13.", going to get a 15" rail soon. etc. Thing ran perfectly, 100 rounds of everything and not one malfunction. I saw the 15" kmr is out, but of course, i have no $ right now... Might be the new bedside home defense choice. |

Looks good.
Gonna do something similar. Afghan 14.5 with KX5 and 15 inch NSR. That was pig in just a little blanket. 
Just picked up Afghan on 15% off sale. |

Definitely need a blanket I'm running a similar setup 13.7 barrel with a mega mkm receiver set with a 14 inch rail and I love it
