I've read on the forum that if I have a carbine buffer and an H3 buffer I can mix/match components to have various weight buffer assemblies between the carbine and H3.

Can anyone point me to a source or provide details (technical specs) on the different buffer assemblies and how to mix-and-match the various configurations?

I've built one Upper from parts and it runs flawlessly, and I'm working on an AR-Pistol (7.5-in) and want to be able to test different buffer weights in both guns.

Thanks in advance,

Its is simpler than you would think.

A carbine buffer has 3 steel weights spaced between 3 rubber spacers and weighs 3 oz
A heavy (H) buffer has 1 tungsten weight and 2 steel weights spaced between 3 rubber spacers and weighs 3.8 oz
A heavy 2 (H2) buffer has 2 tungsten weights and 1 steel weight spaced between 3 rubber spacers and weighs 4.6 oz
A heavy 3 (H3) buffer has 3 tungsten weights spaced between 3 rubber spacers and weighs 5.4 oz

As you can see the number after H specifies how many tungsten weights there are. So, with a carbine buffer, and a H3 buffer; you will have a total of 3 steel weights, and 3 tungsten weights to swap around to produce a buffer weight of your choosing; and a second buffer weight using the remaining weights after assembling the first one.
