My build list so far + Some things I am considering:

OWNED:
Tactical Machining Multi Cal Blem Lower with special edition Frankenstien face engraving and special Frankenstein serial number: BOUGHT

Tactical Machining AR-15 Stripped Upper Receiver (Engraved T Mark): BOUGHT

POF USA singal stage drop in trigger: BOUGHT/ INSTALLED

DOUBLESTAR Corp. AR-15 Lower Parts Kit: BOUGHT/ INSTALED

Plank of White Ash for custom fixed thumbhole stock: BOUGHT

What I need ADVICE on:
Best NON-556/223 Caliber (thinking 450 Bushmaster unless I get a better suggestion)

Has anyone used the LaFrance Twin tube Impingement gas tube

Best Carbine barrel length

Where can I buy a NON-556/223 Bull Barrel

What I'm trying to do:
I am looking to make the most versitile AR-15 carbine possible. I have a 7.62 bolt action for long distance shooting so I am definitely just looking to make a short range carbine. I have been considering making it a 450 Bushmaster because I have read (please correct me if i'm wrong) that it can reach maximum velocity out of a barrel as short as 16". More than likely going to be used for paper target hunting at first, but I eventually plan to use it for Deer, wild pig, and possibly black bear hunting.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me on this...

Why not 300? It should be plenty for whitetail and black bear and as long as you reload is way more wallet friendly than 450. Although I do have to agree a supersonic 250gr round would put a serious hurting on whatever the hell was unfortunate enough to be in front of it. Mag capacity sucks on it too. 9+1 is max out of a 30 round mag. With 300 you can still get 30 in a 30 mag. Also I believe 300 burns all of its powder by 12".
Good luck with your build it definitely sounds interesting. This thread needs pics though

I have a 1 big reason for going the Big bore route:

1. I am moving to Virginia permanently this summer, and I wanted to do a build that would be impervious to a large magazine ban because their new governor has already started working on banning them just mere days after entering office. (Also the same reason its not a 50)

I plan to post pic's as soon as all the parts come in, and I can assemble them. The stock was supposed to be finished a week ago by schedule but I can't finish it without the buffer tube which is still in transit. Stay tuned though... If it turns out anything like I have pictured in my head it should make your imagination explode!
