Am I missing something? I have found some reviews but they are kind of older. I have thought about nabbing a couple of these while they are on sale for future builds. thanks |
|
I just got an Anderson lower for my dedicated 22lr AR build. It is marked 223.5.56 and not multi but other than that i can't tell a difference from this one and a PSA lower. No blems and all mil-spec lower parts fit perfect into their places. Would buy again for a budget build.
|
|
question....if you buy an Anderson lower, are the parts for it interchangeable? IE...parts kits from other companies, will they work on it?
thanks |
|
I just built a rifle using an Anderson upper and Lower. Both were stripped and I had zero problems fitting anything.

I know a lot of guys here wont buy Anderson parts because of the stunt they tried to pull here a while back.

Yes, I read that after I bought the lower at a gunshow on an impulse. I paid $80 for the lower and everything else I could find was at least $120. I was afraid that the tolerances would be poor for such a cheap lower so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and bought the upper on their site. The parts fit good and I didn't have any problems. The one thing that I thought was strange was their magic coating isn't included when you buy just parts.

Anderson lowers are GTG for the most part. There were 2 in the last batch (of however many PSA had) that did not have the bolt catch roll pin hole drilled. That is not a PSA issue though, but an Anderson issue. The buyers didn't inspect the lowers before they walked out the door with them. I have several, and they have all been good. Some people don't like the roll mark, but who cares if it shoots straight.

i have built 6 so far they have all been GTG a+ quality and cant beat the price.

I have owned two and both of them would not drop empty Gen 2 PMAGs. These same magazines worked 100% in my Aero, Mega, Noveske, AXTS, Core-15, Sig Sauer, DPMS, and PSA lowers.

Areo Precision has 3 packs of blem lowers for $180 including shipping. Use the promo code 12thman to get 12% off, so it works out to <$53 each...

I bought 2 when they had them in stock last. Took a long time to ship (Palmetto State Armory), but were clean, everything fit (Magpul grip, BRB stock, PTAC lower parts kit, cheap metal mag, DPMS upper. Shoots fine, I will buy more at that price. Was at a gun show last weekend, almost all lowers $100

I will never forgive either of you for saying that! That said, I've got one I'm going to be doing a pistol build on once I get in the last of my parts. Cost me $99 during the panic, which was pretty damn good. Finish looks great. Not a huge fan of the horsey logo, but it's not like that affects what the gun does. |

Went to a LGS today and they have this lower for $125. I asked if that was with transfer and tax included because I could get it online for $50 bucks. All the counter guys looked at me like I had 3 heads then looked at each other like UUUUMMMMM........

Just a heads up ar15brick.com has blem lowers for 45$ shipped no rollmark!

You can get them, direct, from Anderson for less than $80, all day long on the net for $60, and on sales at places like PSA for $50 regularly. I hope you told them you can get them for $50 OUT LOUD (causing other customers to hear) then add "you're crazy", then walked out. I'd not go back there again. They ARE excellent receivers btw (especially for the $). |

My black Friday andersons blems drop mags freely.
I cover the ugly ass horse too. $49 |

I bought a couple of them on Black Friday and am impressed especially for the money. The one I've built drops gen II PMAGs fine.

I just bought four blems from copes for $42 a pop, and $10 flat rate shipping. MUCH better than PSA to deal with. I can actually call copes and have them pick up the phone.
Some have a little thin anno, one is spotless, the other has a few mild dings. Very minor stuff, to be honest. I assembled one, went together easy as pie, everything's in spec, and life's good. I would happily buy them again. And for people bitching about roll marks, seriously? Atleast it's not a dueling penis. |

They're out of stock now....anybody know if they will likely get more in at the same price?

Just picked up two from classicfirearms waiting on some of my amibi bits to get here to start my builds. Finish on my are great and they line up with my Grizzly upper perfectly...
I want to grab more I know I can afford that many more builds before my new baby gets here......(it sucks being a responsible adult) |
|
picked one up for 86 at my lgs. everything fit fine, no issues and finish is great
|
|
Just finished my first AR build - Mated with a PSA upper. No slop between the two halves. Mags drop easily. Everything was machined precisely and was a perfect fit for all pins.

I was real happy to read these reviews about the Anderson Arms Lowers. But, yesterday, I was asking the owner of my LGS about receiving those $45 Blems from ar15brick.com, and he told me that he would
reduce the price on the Anderson Arms Lowers that he has in stock to get rid of some stock, He would make it "Worth my while not to order". So today, I just picked up 4 at my favorite LGS for $234.35 OTD. He started with 20, I have no idea how many he has left. Get this 3 of the 4 were consecutive numbered. At less then $60 ea., I really don't care about the roll mark on the side, as long as they do what they're supposed to do. With some of the deals PSA has on Upper Assemblies and LPK's, I could possible get my first one done for around $550-$600. |
|
I bought 7 and built 4 of them out already... Three for under 600$ 1 of those being a 450$ budget build that functions flawless. One has a higher quality PSA fn upper w/ 15 " SQR love it super light, bumped it past the 600$ mark though.
I love Anderson lowers. Even after reading the negative threads from years ago. |

Just ordered one from CTD for $66.00. Also have a Aero Precision "I'm your huckleberry" lower on order. We'll see which one reaches my FFL first...

The keyhole forge mark Anderson lower receiver I purchased locally is a decent receiver. Only notable flaw was an absence of coating inside the mag release button bore. The forward takedown pin bore diameters each measured .249" and the rear bores each were a snug .250 inches. The trigger pin bores were aligned properly and with a little coaxing accepted JP .156" anti-walk pins. The selector bore was aligned properly and the safety engaged well. Mags drop free, buffer tube fit well, etc.
On the other hand the upper receiver I purchased off GunBroker is a keyhole forge mark Aero Precision and its rear lug has a fits-all-slot instead of a bore. Front lug bore ID was spot on. Unfortunately the machining below the rail extended across a portion of the ramp for the charge handle latch. To slightly increase latch engagement I thinned a section of the coating on the bottom of the receiver latch recess. The coating looks good, it's thick and it matches the Anderson lower. However the coating appeared to have accumulated more on the bottom portion of the receiver threads...A test fit ATI barrel nut was overly snug after a couple of turns so I had to lube it all and work the barrel nut back and forth by hand until it spun freely. Frankly, I enjoy dealing with and overcoming all the gremlins associated with assembling/building rifles, etc. It is rare when I come across a component that does not require some sort of tweaking, choice words, etc. |

Just exactly who is screwing the shooting community? Gun owners who sit on their self-serving behinds and don't vote.
