This is all I could afford for now. Just wanted to get something before the libs make everything illegal. Nothing fancy for sure, especially compared to what I've seen here but it should do for up close and personal. I have a M1A with a 4-24x scope if I really need to reach out and touch someone. I have not fired the AR-15 yet.

I'm really happy with it. I'm still trying to decide if I should swap the ridiculously big scope out or not with something American made and not just American designed. Currenlty it's a Millet LRS 6.5-25X56 I got in a trade. |

Click for larger image. The pivot detent and bolt catch were a real pita. I launched the detent twice and managed to find it both times. This is my first ever AR build, and am just extremely grateful for the information this site has. I almost shelled out a ridiculous amount for an AR at a gunshow several weeks back, but am so glad I didn't. It's been fun learning and getting all of the pieces together. Have 2 of these Aero upper/lowers and have 3 Florida Arms billet lowers on the way. It's gonna be a fun year. Aero upper/lower RRA lpk POS stock |

Finally done... (started acquiring parts at the beginning of January) well, almost. Decided to swap the 9" rail for an 11" to cover up the gas block after all, also ordered a Magpul AFG2 and a Vortex Strikefire Red/Green scope for it. Now I can breathe a bit and just think about accessorizing (and arming, of course) my existing firearm collection, ha.
AO Precision M4 flattop upper Spike's Tactical Spider lower Lothar Walther 16" mid-length .223 Wylde barrel w/black oxide finish (supposedly... the gunsmith that assembled the rifle for me was concerned about the lack of markings on it...) Noveske low profile gas block (originally Troy, but apparently that wouldn't fit on the barrel, you can see the line on the barrel where it stopped sliding down...) Troy 9" Bravo Battlerail (though like I said above, I ordered an 11" to swap it out with now) DPMS A2 birdcage flash suppressor Phase 5 Tactical bolt carrier RRA bolt Windham Weaponry charging handle, forward assist, ejection port cover, gas key, firing pin, cam pin, and firing pin retaining pin (which bent trying to force it through, replaced with what was on-hand at the shop, which fit perfectly) PSA Magpul STR lower build kit http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v105/rosscoliosis/20130227_153407_zps0743aaea.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v105/rosscoliosis/20130227_154143_zpsf5d768d4.jpg Aaaand my full AR family: S&W M&P 15-22 MOE, Frankengun, Colt M16A2 upper (supposedly, bought it on ebay almost 10 years ago, but the markings are right)/Bushmaster XM15-E2 lower hybrid http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v105/rosscoliosis/20130227_160039_zps868a8c24.jpg |

Sure did, cleaned it prior with Testors thinner and then I used OD green testors model paint. I filled it in with a toothpick, let it get tacky then cleaned over it with the thinner again. Used a hairdryer to heat the area a little bit and then cleaned with gunzilla. Took about 20 min. |

I can see the build it stuff in one consolidated post, but the in stock parts in one post that go to page one, and people are bumping them to get it back to thread page 1, lol defeats the purpose. |

Don't take this wrong way, but what is Duracoat? It looks like Krylon spray paint to me. Is it something that is actually not just a quick spray job?

In a nutshell, it is a spray on finish but it has to be applied using an airbrush. it had a different chemical makeup than regular Krylon Paint. |
