nicoroshi - Do you have some kind of special coating on those Glocks?  Or is it just the way the light is reflecting off of them?

Link Posted: 3/17/2009 4:49:27 PM EDT
[Last Edit: nicoroshi] [#6]
Stock coating on the Glocks. They are wiped down with CLP after every range trip though, and may be showing some holster wear at the muzzles. Both have AGrip on the handles.

I have a couple of Glocks and I can tell you it's just the light.  Remember, the Glock lower is polymer and the slide is metal so they'll reflect light differently, especially in pictures if a flash was used.

@brokesoldier
Specs? Sure

On the right:
Kaiser Defense Lower w/ DPMS lpk
KNS pins (.155 for a tighter fit)
Magpul MAID, and enhanced trigger guard (the aluminum one cause I got the basic MAID on that one)
RRA M4 6 position stock with CAA saddle, and no-name rubber buttpad
Alexander Arms A4 upper (M4 feed ramps + numbered top)
Sabre Defense 16" barrel 5.56 chambered 1:8 twist S.S. heavy profile fluted. mid length gas system.

GG&G BUIS (spring loaded with detents)
Young Manufacturing light chrome bolt, and carrier (added perma-pin firing pin retainer)

EOTech 552 w/ X3 on FTS ARMS mount (hindsight I should have bought the 512, and saved a few bucks)
Generic ladder rail covers
Bullet button equipped for CA legality
Truly a frankengun. I bought nothing but parts, and built her:
http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/993/dscn2122wz3.jpg
http://img73.imageshack.us/img73/7697/dscn1975dy1.jpg

Oh, and her name is Nikki (thanks to my daughter)
She shoots more accurately than I can aim her, and likes eating the 69gr BTHP match ammo the best but does well with 55gr also.
Sitting with bipod 10 shot group:
http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/3723/dscn2172copyyd0.jpg

On the left is my 6.8 SPC (Her name is Artemis again thanks to my daughter who decided they needed names....who am I to argue):
Mega Gator lower (caliber multi) w/ standard lpk (bought at a gun show so unsure of the maker)
KNS pins (again .155 for a snug fit)
POF 16" upper with predator rail, 6.8 SPC II chambered , chrome lined heavy profile fluted barrel, and chamber 1:11.3 twist 5R nickel plated carrier, charging handle (big latch) and upper receiver, chromed bolt, POF gas piston equipped.
Mil spec 6 position buffer assembly with CAA stock, and cheek weld attachment.
Magpul MAID grip (full set on that one so the trigger guard is part of the grip)
Bobro quick detach VFG
PWS-FSC30 comp
Troy BUIS
EOTech 557 w/ X3 FTS ARMS mount
Bullet button equipped for CA legality
My first three shots with this (was sighting in) made one hole at 50yards (I actually thought the second two missed the paper until I walked up on the target, and looked....sorry I didn't bring the camera that day so no pics of it).

Yes, I know that unfinished=FAIL, but I don't care. my lower will be in next week, and then it will be completed.

here's everything else:

Oly A1 upper receiver (at least that's what I think it is. "splintered A" forging mark) from Black Rifle Works
CMMG Lightweight Mid-length barrel from CMMG Inc.
LaRue BCG from LaRue Tactical
Spike's Tactical Charging handle
anonymous 4-pos collapsible stock from the gun show
STAG LPK (well, it might be RRA. got it from legaltransfers)
this will all be going on a DoubleStar lower next week.

mags are '60's Colt's 20 rounders and NIW 30 round Okay Industries (well, they were NIW, now I guess they're just N )
the stock will likely be replaced by a magpul CTR or MOE. or, I might throw an OD A1 style CavArms furniture set on it. who knows.

My first build up and paint.  I think it well.
Everything put together by myself other than the lower receiver and trigger group.  The Lower is a Stag with
basic trigger group.  The upper is from SOG armory.  The barrel is a 10.5" from Del-Ton with a Noveske hinder.
A basic collapsible stock.  The iron sights are from Troy industries and the optics are Eotech.  The halo is the
552 and the magnifier is the 3x with flip to side mount.  The grips are both Tango Down with hideaways for
batteries.  The light is a Surefire Scout Light.  Considering all of the different parts that I threw at this over the
long building and paying process I was worried about the workings.  But it fires wonderfully.  The paint is all
Krylon Camo brand and modeled after the Multicam format.  It ended up being a little darker than Multicam but
I am happy about it.  Next project is a Remigton 700 more than likely but still working through a bunch of
research.  Holla Holla Holla.

Just finished this build with my 12 year old son.  It will be "His" AR15.

Superior Arms stripped lower, DPMS LPK, DPMS Paradus stock, DSA stripped upper, CMMG barrel, Model 1 sales free float tube. Del-Ton BCG, and a Ciener Conversion kit so he can afford to shoot it.

It's got a cheap Tasco 3-9X scope on it that I had laying around.  Eventually it will get some better optics.

It still needs a flash hider of some sort, my son wants a Spikes SD fake can on it.

It's go a very tight lock up between the upper and lower.  We would have gone out today and shot it, but my son was to slow doing his homework.

Panther grip
Harris bipod
Carbon fiber free float tube
4 rail DPMS gas block

I wouldn't consider this a build, but I modified everything I could.  I'll post pics of my next one after I finish the upper!
