Thanks! I don't know how I ever lived with my fat quad rails. Rifle is also a lot lighter now.

Deconstruction of the work upper, with good things to come.

Before:

Much too heavy.  This upper shot really well and ran like a champ.  Never had any failures or other complaints, but slighty shorter for getting and out of the car, plus some weight cut is really going to help the feel of this gun I think.  I had swap the barrel or get it checked to make sure the threads were concentric to the bore for suppressor use, so what they hay, might as well just get a shorter barrel  :D

I am swapping the barrel out to a Rainier Arms 14.5" Select Barrel with middy gas system and having them perm attach a Surefire FH for future suppressor use.  Going with a Troy/VTac 13" Alpha rail.  Should be pretty handy.

Just need to throw on the rear sight and it's ready for a test drive

Here's the lower on the new competition rifle I am building (3gun):

Here she is, finally.... Came back from deployment and put it together, went to the base and had one of the CATM guys torque the barrel nut and check headspace and all that good stuff.  It was pretty cool shooting my AR on the same range that we get trained on our m4's and m16's.  Too bad all the FDE doesnt match, oh well.  And lastly I had to represent by showing you guys my awesome MFE patch!

It balances VERY well and is an amazing shooter. My favorite build I've done thus far. The alpha rail is def one of the best light-weight options out there IMO. I think it balances better than the DD lite 12. The fact that it mounts up with a standard barrel nut is really innovative and forward thinking. Get one, you won't regret it. Thanks for the compliment btw!

this lower was my first aluminum lower put together by me, but the upper is the third and (I think...) final comfiguration built for it. it took me over two years to find the right setup and it shoots like a dream. not as heavy as it looks either, the scope really put on the weight though.

specs:
aero precision keyhole forge upper and lower receivers
core 15 NiB bcg & rainier arms raptor charging handle
stag lpk, mega tactical trigger with bobbed hammer, armalite bolt catch, & all ambi controls.
pws buffer tube and b5 sopmod
20" sabre defense m16 barrel with rainier xtc comp
rifle length jp handguard and top rail, tangodown bipod & stuby vfg
first gen wilson combat flip up gas block sight & troy dioptic rear sight
3x9 trijicon accupoint green triangle with ADM mount

This is the rebuild of a rifle I kaboomed (More on that here.)

Aero Precision upper/lower
PSA 16" "lighter" weight middy barrel and BCG
Midwest Industries Gen1 SS-9 free-float tube
Midwest Industries flash hider / impact device
ATI Strikeforce stock / buffer / tube
Blackhawk ambi sling mounting plate
Magpul MOE trigger guard and Gen2 MBUS
Hogue grip (can there be any other? Not imo.)

The future includes a YHM flip-up front sight gas block, but I wanted to get this thing running. I just used the low-pro one that came on the original upper.

thanks, hope it stays in this configuration but who knows. the trijicon is the first piece of glass that made me want to pay several hundred dollars for it, ill say that. I looked through one at adventure sports in lynnwood a while back and I started saving till I had enough for it. it is remarkably clear, its very user friendly and very adaptive to your sight preference. i've never looked thru or checked out a zeiss but I can't imagine its much better than the trijicon. I am in south snohomish county, was in everett but moving soon to lake stevens.

I still need a BCG, barrel nut, delta ring assembly, hand guard cap, barrel, FSB w/pins and a flash hider. I do have a gas tube
