I think you're gonna have issues with your takedown pins, fire selector and mag release unless you remove the paint from inside those areas. The tolerances are pretty tight.

Don’t worry, everything has been fitted-up and compensated for...

I’ve built many, many ARs’ in the past (as well as CETMEs’, AKs’, and so on)… I simply try to get more exotic and "off the beaten path" each time…

(Actually, I just like to hide in my workshop from my wife... The more “off-beat” equals more “shop (me)” time... )

Did some modifications to my Bushmaster. Grip pod, YHM suppressor, and an ATN Paladin my wonderful wife got me for Christmas. I can' wait to unleash this on the local hog population. Sorry the pics turned out terrible.

Also this is my CMMG lower 3 gun rifle. With the heavy SS barrel, the Chip McCormick trigger group, the Leupold 30mm scope, and the red dot this thing is a beast. I will post pics of grouping after a day at the range.

First off, I have trolled AR15.com for years, just look at my join date. I have never had to post any questions because of the knowledgeable people here at AR15.com have answered everyone elses question that i was going to ask and for that I thank you.
I am starting of building my first AR15 and figured that i will post up pictures of my build. I know that building an AR will never realy be cheaper than purchasing one. But I like being able to spread out the cost over time rather than spinding it all at once. This way I will be able to build it the way I want to instead of buyin a cookie cuter gun. (eventhough it will look a lot like everyone elses FDE ar build)
It all started when I WON (YES WON) a ATI Strikeforce Stock set from ATI's monthly facebook page giveaway! This gave me a good reason to go a head and finaly get an AR15.
So I went and bought a Spikes Tactical stripped lower and a DPMS LPK. I assembled it and this is were I stand now. (plan on doing my own color fill this weekend)
My plan is to go with a Spikes upper and a DTI 16" mid length barrel and a MOE FDE handguard (from Del-ton barrle kits).

Looks great. Dti makes a high quality barrel for the price. I've spoken to their barrel maker, he really knows what he's doing.

Well I did my own color fill and I think it turned out great. I might do a second coat on the spider, the paint looks kind of thin in person.

I finally finished my Moto/KISS Build (for the most part):
Lower is a highly personalized Territorial Gunsmiths lower
LPK is FN
Stock is a CavArms C1
Pistol Grip is Cav Arms
BCM 16" Standard Middy Upper
BCM BCG
BCM/VLTOR Gunfighter Mod 5 CH
DD A1.5 BUIS
Cav Arms C8 handguards
All furniture is Cav Arms' Dark Earth

I had debated replacing the upper receiver with an A1/C7 with an A2 aperature.
I opted to stay with BCM's flat-top and a DD A1.5, to have a little flexibility if I decide on going beyond KISS in the future.
Lower receiver is coated in DuraCoat, in their WWII OD Green.
I kinda want to have the upper receiver sprayed to match.
Part of me just wants to leave it and be happy (and just shoot the thing)
