Well I just figured out how to get pics up here, so here we go, my latest build, not sure if I'll keep the DD rail or go LaRue, or Samson 9" with a lo-pro gas block and get more real estate, but I just love PRI's flip up iron/gas block.   Couple that round hood with a GG&G MIAD, and that's some happy times for me.  This is a lighter weight build, but I wouldn't say SUPER light.  Now that I've got the picture thing down, I'll have to post up the rest of the family.....it's a big fam





Mega Machine Billet Matched upper/lower/ and billet CH, later I'll either add a tac-latch or a BCM Gunfighter
Geissele Trigger/Stag LPK w/Ambi Safety, will probably go BAD safety with the thin/short lever on the right side for my Gorilla hands
ACE Stock-AWB state folks, plus I'm 6'5" and I don't have body armor so...really an A2 length stock is fine for me.

I've got a bunch of optics, not sure if I'll put a T-1 Aimpoint, TA-11 3.5 (you can see it on the counter in a LaRue mount next to the 12.5 Stealth Upper) or TA-33 Trijicon, most likely the T-1 w/a 3XMag behind it. Also have some white lights, might go with a QR Tango Down or Dieter vert grip w/tape switch and a G2, or maybe get an Elzetta? Won't break any records for lightness, but it'll be a nice rifle.

I wanted something accurate and lighter, I've had this a bit, spine tumors and a newborn Son have kept me from the range, but the first day it's 60 degrees and my Wife gives me the go ahead I'll get some rounds down range and post something.  Been hearing nothing but great news about these barrels and their accuracy-I'm in the process of selling off a lot of gun stuff for diapers n daycare, but this was built as a keeper, along with a few others.

Might sell of the majority of the 20 or so AR rifles/lowers+parts/optics and buy myself a LaRue PredatAR and pay off my credit cards so Jr. can have a college fund, probably keep the lowers, I can always buy parts....I hope.

I bought the 80% lower near my house in CA...then brought it to a machine shop that has the needed fixtures and programs...then brought it to a anodizer (everything was done in a batch (there were about 5-10 other guys who all did this at the same time to keep the cost down)  

the rail, lower and upper were anodized fol green to match the furniture....

the rail came out a bit darker because its 6061 and the upper and lower are 7075....the etching was done with a laser etcher by a buddy who had access to one

I'm spending most of my time at the range with my middies these days but I still like this little carbine. After many thousands of rounds and a couple of classes, it's served me well. The Rock River lower was my first lower receiver I bought in college when I was piss poor so it has some sentimental value. It's worn several different uppers over the years but I found a good match with this one.

It's funny how these things change and evolve. I've tried to keep it simple but IMO necessity requires a light and a sling. So the M4 handguards were replaced with the MOE handguards so I could mount a light. The plane jane M4 stock went on another carbine that I sold recently, so on went the extra CTR I had in my parts bin. Recently an Accupoint went on my BCM; freeing up the H-1. So away went the carry handle. The extra VTAC sling replaced the crappy Israeli sling it had before. It's not really KISS anymore but it still lightweight and reliable as hell. BCM will be releasing their lefty gunfighter charging handles in a few months so I'll be picking one up. For now, I'm pretty happy with how this carbine has evolved. It may not get as much use as my other ARs but I like having it around.

I'd never shot an AR until I built this last winter.
