American defense quick release optic mount with a Horus Hawk. LaRue 13.2 rail, Vltor Suppressor and a BoBro Gen II bi-pod. PEQ Laser. Usual Magpul Kit. Bottom...11.5 Sabre Defense Barreled .223 with Vltor Suppressor. LaRue 10" rail Magpul MBUS all the way around. Henderson Defense upper, Young MFG BCG Magpul Kit on a POF Gen III Lower. Phase 5 tactical EBR lever. An Aimpoint M# will be on top of this. I just got done building it a few minutes ago.

S&W MP15 lower with a DPMS 16" 1/9" bull barrel. All Magpul accessories including: CTR buttstock, 10/20 FDE mag, FDE pistol grip, trigger guard, and soon adding the BDA lever. The scope is a cheap one for now, but I am planning to get an EOTech red dot soon.

I just put the lower parts kit into my second build last night finally. It's a Spikes Tactical Lower that I bought during their recent sale. I'm thinking of trying to do the paperwork for an SBR on this one, but I'm not sure it's worth it.... If you go through all that work should I do a 14.5 or an 11.5 barrel?
Here's my whole collection: The other AR is my 20' build. Bushmaster Lower with LM&T upper, Wilson 1/9 barrel, and my Glock 22.

Finally got my rifle where i want it. Total frankengun at this point. I'm happy with it for shtf, range, HD or anything else. she is just perfect for me.

My first complete build, almost entirely a Spikes build, a dedicated 22 upper.
Spikes - Lower, Upper, LW Barrel 14.5" + 1.5" in the Receiver, Fake Can, Receiver Extension DPMS LPK from Spikes ARMS #40 BUIS TANGO DOWN FDE VFG VLTOR EMOD and CASV-M + Front Sight Black Dog Mags from Spikes Badger Tac Latch on a Carbon 15 Charging Handle Blue Force Sling Waiting on some more funds to get an optic and a matching FDE EMOD, single point sling, and a FDE Magpul MOE + Grip... Should get to test fire it later this week. I used a little to much anti seize grease and it got everywhere, and it was a pain to get off of everything that it touched, otherwise a solid build, just need a test fire. |

Since I already have a carbine and a standard, I decided on a middie for my first build. Wanted to keep it fairly simple; here's the result:
 I started with a Rock River stripped lower I bought right after the election, and used mostly RRA components: RRA upper receiver with 16" SS HBAR RRA lower with 2-stage NM trigger Hogue pistol grip Magpul CTR buttstock on a mil-spec tube with HD buffer EOTech 512 HWS on a GG&G Accucam QD mount GG&G flip-up lens covers for the EOTech RRA front / Troy rear flip-up BUIS |

Future plans are numerous MagPul parts (MIAD grip, MOE forearm, B.A.D. lever.), quad rail gas block, flashlight mount & flashlight, and Eotech optic. On a side note, I had read numerous negative reviews about Blackthorne Products. I have nothing but very positive things to say after having actually dealt with them. I received my parts 2 days after I ordered them, I emailed them more than once after receiving my parts and got a speedy reply. A+ company, I definately recommend them. Total cost so far (including PMAG & MagPul trigger guard) = $533. |

After many months collecting parts and waiting to get back from my deployment, I've finally built my first AR15. Being my first, I went with a light build by building my lower and buying a drop in upper.
Here are the specs in order of purchase: Denny's Guns lower receiver DPMS LPK (built just before I went on my deployment) Magpul PMAG magazines 10x (bought these while in deployment training to take with me) Bravo Company 16" standard mid length upper and bolt carrier group Magpul ACS buttstock Magpul MIAD grip Endom MM Gunslinger sling (bought while in theater and used on my issue weapon) Cavalry Arms C6 handguards (bought this week after returning from my deployment) Matech 600 rear sight (bought this week after returning from my deployment) I saw on the pass it forward someone with mid length handguards and asked about them. Then I forgot I asked and ordered the Cav arms C6 set like I originally wanted and today they came in along with my rear sight. Which do you guys like more? I like the feel on both. Here are some pics:

First ever build and like many others here I was able to accomplish this by myself by leveraging this excellent site along with the knowledge of all the great members here. Total build took me approximately 3 hours as I really took my time. The only problem I’ve run into is I can’t put her down.

Sometimes it's amazing how many spare parts you can find when you clean up the bench and storage area!
I replaced the RRA lower on my 9mm with a new Nodak Spud 9mm marked lower, and after buying a RRA BUIS I had enough spare parts to put this together: 
Of course, I can't leave well enough alone - I ordered a Milspec MOE-in-a-box package from DSG, and now it looks like this:

i haven't shot this one with the ATN, but i did sight in my 24" varmint AR that i built years ago. my ATN has decent clear viewing.
