Love that it does not have a forward assist! my latest 2 builds have been slick sides as well. in the marine corps, 2 iraq deployments i never used the damn thing. it just got caught up on stuff.

how have you liked the Faxon barrel?

Just completed second build / first SBR. I did two length hand guards with this one. One for without suppressor, and one with suppressor. Just for the heck of it. :) The gun is pretty much meant to be a dedicated suppressed gun for in house defense and some carbine shoots. Yes I absolutely love that camo pattern. I was gonna do one very similar with the 10.5" blackout build I'm in the middle of. I'll get some pics of it hopefully in a couple weeks.

Well i guess I can finally post pics of my first completed build....
Specs are: Aero Upper and Lower Trinity Ordinance LPK with JP Springs Phase5 Extended Bolt Catch Phase5 15" MLOK Handguard Faxon 16" Gunner mid length Magpul MBUS Sights Magpul MOE Stock Andro Corp BCG Raptor Ambi Charging Handle Pretty Basic Build. Pretty Budget orientated. Wanted a quality barrel and I got a CRAZY deal on the Phase5 Handguard that I probably wouldn't have spent $250 on. 
Overall I am happy with it just need a muzzle device. Won't be my last build. And I wanna thank this forum for alot of info and pics that helped me decide what I wanted to do! |

Did a Memorial build in memory of my father. Featuring his unit insignia on the magwell, and some script over the trigger pins.
Detroit Gun Works Olde English D stripped lower, that was custom engraved by Phil at Veritas Machining LLC. http://www.veritasmachiningllc.com/ Aero Precision stripped upper CMMG lower spring & pin kit ALG Defense ACT trigger High Velocity Arms Ambidextrous mag catch Rguns Nickel Boron parts (safety selector, pivot/takedown pins, trigger pins, bolt catch, entended mag release button, castle nut, charging handle, forward assist, dust cover, complete BCG, delta ring assembly, round handguard cap, carbine gas tube, F marked front sight base, and A2 flash hider) KAK carbine buffer assembly kit Ballistic Advantage Modern series 5.56 NATO M4 16" barrel Magpul MOE SL stock Magpul MOE K2+ grip Magpul MOE carbine handguard Magpul Aluminum Enhanced Trigger Guard Magpul MBUS Gen 2 Flip-Up Rear Sight Magpul PMAG M3 30-Round Magazines Bravo Company QD End Plate

This is my latest build, went with a lighter type build this time around with irons. Only thing that isnt exactly light weight is the barrel.
Upper: Spikes reciever Spikes phosphate BCG Spikes charging handle SLR low pro gas block SLR ultra light keymod rail BCM socom barrel Spike dyna comp Daniel Defense fixed irons Lower: POF forged reciever BCM pnt trigger JP lower parts kit Mission First Tactical stock Spikes buffer tube with T2 buffer. Only part I was kind of bummed about was the BCM socom barrel is a carbine gas length, I didnt look into it when I bought it assuming it was mid length. I am very impressed with the BCM quality on the feed ramps and chamber lugs. They look perfect and have a polish to them.

Did a little testing this weekend.
-50yds -5rd groups -5 different brands of ammo -Aimpoint pro and LMT socom genii. I didn't take any pictures of the gun at the range.
Bottom left: Freedom 55gr a-max Top left: Fiocchi 62gr Top right: Perfecta 55gr Bottom right: Black Hills 223 77gr HP Center: Norma 556 77gr OTM There was a 20mph wind at my back. Which is way I didn't go over to the long range bay where the wind was blowing left to right. I pulled the perfecta and Norma groups. |
