Kick ass camo job. Reminds me of WW1 "Dazzle". Care to share how you did it?

Thanks.

It was my first try at rattle canning a gun. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.

I posted this back when it was a DPMS. Now, there are no original parts from when I first purchased it. So, I guess it's a new gun!

The ol DPMS.

Very first build.  Gleaned a massive amount of useful information right here on this forum and had a blast putting this together.  In the last 4 months I have put about 900 rounds through it, no issues.  Much nicer to fire than my issued M4.

Aero Upper
Aero Stripped Lower
Aero Nickel Boron BCG
Spikes/FN optimum profile barrel 16" 1/7
POF drop in trigger
Dynacomp shorty
Eotech EXPS3-2
Palmetto State Armory LPK
Magpul furniture
MBUS

The revised rifle has:

Mega Maten ambi billet upper and lower receivers

SLR 14" Solo handguard

Mega 16" 1/10 twist barrel

SJC Titan muzzle brake

Magpul PRS Stock

Accushot monopod

JP adjustable buttplate

Ranier Arms branded Raptor charging handle

Magpul MBUS Pro BUIS

Vortex PST 6-24x50 FFP EBR2-C (MRAD) w/Vortex Switchview lever

US Optics bubble level

Larue LT112? (the one with 20 MOA built in)

Harris Swivel/notched bipod with podlock and ARMS mount

Ergo Grips Tactical Deluxe Grip w/Palm Shelf

Geissele Hi-Speed National Match DMR trigger

AXTS 45* selector

Not pictured:

Cascadia ArmsQD sling mount (other side of stock)

JP Silent Captured Spring

JP LMOS bolt carrier

JP High Pressure Bolt

I think that's it.

That's a whole lot of sexy right there...and I'm guessing that as long as you do your part she shoots really nice groups out a a good distance.     Speced almost how I want to build a 308 some day.

6lb gun without optics
Thinking about putting on a lighter optic.

I agree, I dont see where there could be any dpms parts left besides the BCG. Upper and lower receivers are different. I say it a new gun and old dpms died.

Purpose built for as little recoil as possible on this one for my wife after she and my little girl did not like shooting my lightweight 14.5 with welded on claymore. Spikes upper, bcm large ch, brownell's bcg, Vtac rail, 10.5" heavy barrel, single chamber brake, RRA lower with polished rra single stage trigger, H2 buffer and other magpul stuff... shoots like a 22.

Just finished my first build last week! No stranger to shooting the AR, but I haven't done much on the building/maintenance side of things. This site has been incredibly helpful, so I decided to register and thought I'd make a proper first post with a picture of the rifle. This rifle has been about 2 years in the making and life finally quit getting in the way for me to finish it.

Spike's stripped lower
Spike's LPK
Spike's complete carbine length upper (w/ bcg and charging handle) - barrel is 1:7 twist (kind of cheated with the upper, but I got impatient)
Magpul SL handguard
PSA mil spec buffer tube kit
Magpul fixed carbine stock
Magpul MOE-K2 grip
Magpul MBUS backup rear sight
Primary Arms micro red dot

Was gonna build my upper but I got a nice deal on this Troy blemished upper, it has a Seekins ambi safety, Strike Industries pivot pins, a Primary Arms red dot and back-up iron sights. Next I'm adding a Raptor charging handle Magpul stock, and using the upper I originally bought to build either a 6.8 or .300 upper, haven't decided yet on which

My new AR, sitting next to the old reliable Bushmaster that I've had since the early 1990s.

Can't wait to take it to the range and sight it in!

Thanks to AR15.com for instruction, and to DVDTracker for his excellent videos outlining the assembly process.

Interesting choice of twist rate for a precision rifle.  What are your accuracy results, loads etc.?

First build. Definitely not my last. Dinged the bolt catch{imagine that} and the trigger guard roll pin needed a little extra oomph but it's nothing a black sharpie won't hide. Pretty sure all I need is another barrel and upper receiver and I'll have everything for another build, Got a little carried away shopping the EE for this one.
