Okay, I believe I fixed the spacing issue and uploaded the pictures. Thanks for your help |

The RDS usable? I think I'd run one or the other. Plus it'd be much lighter. Weight is also important. ETA-I just saw the other dedicated thread on the rifle. These questions have already been asked. |

Thank you.
I've got a few rounds through it already and it's quite a smooth shooter. I did some testing with my factory SR-15 on a lower that I was running the VLTOR A5 on and it ran perfectly, so I knew I could build a rifle with the barrel and BCG purchased off the EE. That picture does not include the KAC 2 stage FCG I received a few days later. Originally Posted By sd5867:

It was a long winter up here and when the snow finally melted, I was left with this.
The lower is a Bushmaster that I got from Brownells. They had a sale last fall and the lgs owner owed me a favor and did the transfer. I ended up getting two. The barrel is a 24" White Oak, 1-8 that they fluted for me. I also got the bolt from them and they head spaced it to the barrel. It has a 3# Timmney trigger that breaks nice but has just the slightest bit of creep to it. I'm going to give it a little time to see if it will settle in, if not, back it goes. The scope is a Leupold, 6-18 vxII. What can you say about Leupold? I've never used a bad one. The range finally cleared enough so I headed down yesterday to see what I had. After about 10 shots to get sighted in, I shot the first 5 shot group with Federal 69 grain match. The second group was a three shot using a reload with 69 grain Sierra HPBT and BL-C(2). They were shot at 100 yard from a sand bag. I think with a little work, this is going to be a one hole gun. |

It's been a long winter up here. This is the result of spending too much time indoors.
The lower is a Bushmaster that I bought last fall on sale from Brownells. The LGS owner owed me a favor and did the transfer for me. I bought two. The barrel comes from White Oak and is a 24" 1-8 that they fluted for me. I also had them head space the bolt. The upper is from DPMS. I used a Timmney 3# trigger that breaks nicely but has just a bit of creep. I'm hoping that it works itself out after some use but if it doesn't, back it goes. The scope is Leupold 6-18 target. Have you ever had a bad Leupold? The snow finally melted enough to get to the range yesterday. After about 10 shots to sight in, I shot the groups below. The first was with Federal, 69 grain match. The second was done with a reload using BL-C(2) and Sierra 69 grain HPBT match. They were shot from a sand bag at 100 yards. I think, with a bit of tinkering, this gun is going to settle into a one hole shooter. |
