That's correct. It folds in/out and can be moved to either side of the upper. I have about 500 rounds through it so far and its a beast.

Changed a few things up on the wife's gun. Dropped the AA hand guard for a magpul one and put the cheapo scope I had on my gun for deer hunting on her rifle.

Picture of my sorta-rifle. 300 blackout. This is what it looks like currently, I used the scope on the pink gun to on this gun to shoot my first deer(buck) ever. My first year hunting so pretty excited about that.

no disrespect intended, as it's a very nice build, but I don't recognize any parts on it that coincide with an SPR.  just like I wouldn't call that same build an M4 build, nor would I call my AR-308 an M110 build, I wouldn't refer to that as an SPR build.

That said, it's indeed a very nice build.  Just not really an SPR now is it?

I should've said SPR/Reece because it's more of a hybrid considering it has a 16" barrel but also attributes of an SPR

lol...My "spr" build isn't technically an spr either, but it does indeed serve a "special purpose" and it is a rifle  My home defense "carbine" isn't really a carbine either since it has a mid length gas system.  It's a very nice reliable build with a BCM upper, but it isn't "mil-spec".

Anyway thanks for sharing your knowledge with us and here is my rifle that I call an "spr"

Fluted barrel  This picture was taken during the summer so that is a little sweat on the stock.

I like it!

SPR is an overloaded term, but in general, one of the more famous one is the Crane's Mark 12 Mod 0/1 SPR

Although mine may not fit the specs of the true  "SPR" it does share similarities ... IE BiPod, Rifle Scope, FF Rail

From top to bottom.  I'm a southpaw, so that's why there's the ambi features.

PSA FN barreled carbine upper on USM4 lower, BCM bolt carrier group, Geissele SSA trigger, Magpul furniture, BCM Gunfighter Mod 4 charging handle, Midwest Industries Gen 2 free float rail cerekoted OD Green, Troy Ambi bolt release, Stag ambi safety, and a Leupold Mark AR Mod 1 3x9x40 with mildot recticle on Burris XTreme rings.  My favorite one to shoot.

BCM carbine upper on a Noveske N4 lower, Rubber City Armory bolt carrier group, Troy ambi bolt release, Stag ambi safety, Magpul furniture, BCM Gunfighter Mod 4 charging handle, Troy BUIS, Geissele SSA, and a Troy Delta free float rail.  This one will be getting a Leupold Mark AR Mod 1 with Firedot SPR later this year.

Colt LE6920 with Magpul furniture, Aimpoint PRO, Troy BUIS, Troy ambi bolt release, BCM Gunfighter Mod A44 ambi charging handle, BAD-ASS ambi safety, and a Troy VTAC Delta free float rail.

Dad wanted a "M-16 lookin' rifle, with no gay-ass collapsible stock and stupid-lookin' rails.  You know, a real rifle."  He's a cranky old fart, but I love him to death, so I present to you......"The Gump"

Upper:
DPMS A2 Upper
RRA A2 Rear Sight
Stag 20" HBAR 1:9 twist
A1 Handguards
PSA Bolt Carrier Group/Charging handle

Lower:
PSA "blem" lower (I sure as hell couldn't find a blemish)
PSA Classic LPK
Model 1 A2 stock kit

Pretty simple, turned out pretty good.  Old man loves it and has already started talking trash about how he's going to educate my brother and I on how to shoot an AR the right way. He turned 57 yesterday and I gather from the smile on his face when I handed him the rifle as a gift he had a good birthday.  Went with some 20-round steel mags to fit the motif.  I know it's not a true to Vietnam-spec M-16 build, but I like to way it turned out and more importantly so did he.

Family photo with my 5.56 rifle up top and my 7.62x39 in the middle.  Top rifle is about to get a facelift up front with a 16" midlength barrel and 15" Samson Evo handguard. Apologies for the photo quality.  I'm no photographer and they were taken with my iPhone.

Crappy cell phone pic of my colt 656 build. Long time in the works. Will get better pics once my good camera has charged.

Anyway as promised some better pics:

I made this one look a little more black and white and film grainy like the original image that inspired me:

My second build...still a work in progress.  The red dot was a spare but will be replaced eventually with something magnified.  Also, being a lefty I still need to get an ambi charging handle and safety.  Probably a BAD-ASS and either a BCM mod 44 or Rainier Raptor.

Grip 23 is made/trademarked by Umbrella Corporation.
B5 systems does not make any grips that I know of, it's not even on their website. Wonder if it's just a rebranded Umbrella Corp grip...?

Yeah, I see what you mean. It looks to have the exact same grip angle and profile.  After looking at both, I think you are on target about it being a rebranded Umbrella grip.
