How is the reliability with heavier grain rounds like 75Gr TAP?
any release date on the 100 rounders?
Just to add my data point: I've run mine from 60 to 0 five times without a problem. All ammo was Wolf .223.
My wife got it for $90 shipped as a Christmas gift for me. I'm happy with it, I'll buy a second one eventually, and I may get a 100-rounder depending on the price.
I want one, but I still can't bring myself to get one. If I am spending $100 I would rather get 10 regular mags.
Are the 60's functioning properly?
Whats the word on 100's?
I emptied the 60 rounder loaded with Tula .223 semi auto for 10 rounds, then full auto with various bursts and I had 0 issues. I am happy with it and will definitely buy another one.
I've seen the 60 rounders online and on the EE for $89 shipped.
Okay guys. Bad news.
My brand new 60 rounder on it's first outing failed miserably.
It would not force the rounds up. I literally had to slap the bottom of the mag while held upside down to get the rounds out of the mag.
I was using 55gr Wolf ammo.
There was NO, I repeat ZERO issues with the rifle. It was completely magazine related.
The rounds would not come up in the magazine.
I'm taking it back where I bought it for a full refund/exchange for some PMags.
Let me know if you guys have any questions.

Try it with some good ammo. ie not Wolf and then if it does not work send it back to Surefire. Wolf ammo is about the worst available you could use.
I know what you mean, but all my other mags cycle Wolf, including my Beta C mags, and so should the Surefire.
There is no reason why it should have done that.
I'm taking it back, it doesnt work.

We have already established that the Surefire mag is more finicky with certain types of ammunition such as bullets with longer overall length. Try it with some good ammo and see if it runs. I don't hold it against anything if it does not run with Wolf.

Mine has run flawlessly with Brown Bear 55gr fmj ammo––180 rounds now.

My 2 have yet to fail with any ammo. I have over 500 on 1 another 300 or so on the other. If it doesn't work it doesn't work, return it. Changing the ammo to make it work doesn't work.....

Well, not anymore. I had my first miserable failure of this mag. Again, I was using Brown Bear 55gr FMJ. I loaded it up (60 rounds) and left it sitting on the bench while I used some other mags first. It was in the low 30's outside if that makes any difference (above freezing). Shot the 1st 2 rounds OK, then it wouldn't push the rounds up. The follower was stuck. I took the mag out and emptied it and then reloaded it again. On the second reloading it shot perfectly without any failures at all. Most of my shooting with it has been Brown Bear (lacquered ammo) although I did initially use some IMI M193, which worked perfectly. Makes me wonder if it has something to do with the coating on the steel cases of the BB.
where is best place to order the 60 rounder?

This was essentially my experience too. Wolf WPA = did NOT work.
20 rounds of M193 did, then a few days later, 60 rounds of M193 did too.
Midway has them for about 90 bucks. I picked one up yesterday, and will give it a bench try out today.
If it only works with brass cases then that's not the end of the world. With an complicated as the movement would be with a quad stack, I'll cut it slack if Surefire could only make it work with brass cases, maybe because they have a differnt friction factor than steel.
90 bucks is a fair price for them I think. Yes it's about 3 times more per round than a Magpull at 18 bucks per 30, but then again it's double the capacity. I appalud Surefire with coming up with a neat product like this and going through some growing pains to make it work.
From a feel standpoint, it's awesome in my MSAR bullpup. WIth the mag in the crook area of your arm, you don't notice the extra width at all, and the MSAR is so well ballanced the 2x weight of the mag is not bothersome. 27' inches long, 16' bbl, 60 round mag. Oh yes.

Agreed. I was pretty pissed w/ the wolf, but only had 20 extra brass rounds at the time. They worked fine and I cooled off a bit. Next range trip I ripped off 60 of brass and it was fine. Slow fire, btw, not a mag dump. That's coming up next, but I want to find some cheap brass before I drop 120 rounds through. If it handles those fine, I'll start to trust it.
But, yes, good ammo working with it is still OK by me.
I've ONLY run WPA 55gr through mine and it's still failure-free after 300 rounds. Not a huge sample, but still a data point.
Are the 100 rd mags out yet?
I loaded my 60 rounder up without problems. It takes a slap to have it seat on a closed bolt, but it does lock up on my AR.
Now on my MSAR bullpup, it locked in without being loaded, but it won't lock in loaded either with the bolt open or closed. I'll take out some rounds and see if there's a round count that will get it to lock in. Strange.
