You need to contact Ron directly, he will not respond to this post as he is not a member anymore. But I do know he can engrave he just did a suppressor for me and his engraving is very good I will be doing a form 1 shortly and will have him do the engraving. Also you should talk to him on the grease gun mags and block he does for standard 223 lowers. I have them for 10mm, 45acp and 50 GI they run great even in FA.

All of this is fine and I would love to see what you have, but I stand by my point that the standard AR-15 lower does not allow for a true double-stack magazine.  If the point is JUST to get .45 ACP AR-15's, why not use a 1911 magazine?

Reising mags are double stack and fit in a standard AR lower. I have a video on youtube proving this. Grease gun mags fit if you remove the outer reinforcing plate on the top. Uzi mags are double stack and fit a standard lower. Thompson mags fit a standard lower but require bolt carrier mods to work.

Do you have a link for your channel?  Uzi mags are not true double-stack.  Reising mags are rare and expensive.  I did not know Thompson mags fit, but then again, I haven't ever owned one, so have nothing to compare to.  I'll admit that I'm a little frustrated by the fact that there ISN'T a good solution out there.  Everything seems to be 'roll-your-own' or, "we plan on having it ready in three months" type posts from 2010.  Where are the Thompson-mag guns, if it fits?  Where are the dedicated Glock-mag lowers.  Every few months, I do a thorough search.  Apart from buying a Thureon  .45 Glock-Mag gun, I'm pretty much out of luck.

What exactly are you looking for? If it's a standard lower that takes pistol mags, there are Glock mag lowers out there but only 1 or 2 manufacturers. If it's a lower that takes high capacity mags, RMW uses Bazokka Bros lower for GG mags as well as the CNC lower that takes GG mags.

I don't get the want for a long gun that takes hand gun mags. All you achieve is a little more distance but you're still ahooting a pistol caliber. Olympic Arms makes a 15 rd mag that fits a standard lower.

The real reason there aren't more options is the market doesn't justify the cost of bringing new .45 AR parts to the market. I don't have access to youtube anymore because I don't want to get a goggle email account. I already have several to keep track of. It is titled Reising mag test 2.

Ron at RMW Xtreme has his own grease gun lower  that he uses for his complete guns and also has it available stripped if someone wants to build the lower themselves.

He started out using Bazooka Bros lowers for his .45 uppers. Wasn't aware he was manufacturing his own lowers now. Picture on his website looks like the BB lower minus the finger groves on the front of the mag well. Quite possible they are BB lowers with a marking variance for RMW.

When he got them he told me they were not bb, he sourced them from another provider machined to his specs. I have 2 of his lowers and they are nice lowers.

I have sent off an email to RMW.  I am looking for a full-up factory gun.  I was hoping to avoid the Grease Gun route, but might end up going that way.

I want to a suppressor-friendly carbine.  Yeah, I can suppress a 9mm carbine, but in the end it's a 147gr bullet with a .355" cross-section.  The .45 is a 230gr bullet with a .452" cross section.  I'd call that a significant difference.  My 7th grade math says that's almost 60% greater diameter and bullet weight   As far as the 'takes handgun mags' analogy.  I already have a few dozen Glock 21 magazines for my G21.  The Korean .45 mags work well and hold 26ish rounds.  The suppressor changes the game as far as utility goes.  I see tac-tards with .300 Whisper, uh, I mean 300 AAC MotherF***ing BLACKOUT! guns that are a .30 caliber bullet cruising at, uh, subsonic.  Why not get a heavier bullet that's pre-expanded?

Still wasn't able to find the youtube video.  I do like the Thureon Defense .45 guns on paper, but I've not seen one in the wild... only their 9mm's and their early ones at that.  Thanks for clarifying the RMW situation.  At least that gives me an option.  This thread is TL:DR and I must have missed that one.

The USC conversion was designed primarily for those in ban states due to the availability of 10 round magazines as well as the 15 round mags.

I also have a magazine I designed that the first production test models are supposed to be in my hands by 31 July 2015. As soon as I do final test and approval I will be dropping a purchase order for 5000 of the mags.....and hope to have complete conversion kits in quantity available both DI and blowback for Knob Creek in October. and have a revised website with a shopping cart available in November. Combined with a top load magwell adapter we will be producing......it will be a plug and play conversion for both our DI uppers and our new Blowback series of uppers that will soon be in production. Keep an eye on the Macon Armory Industry forum .....it will be the first place we make announcements concerning all the new products and developments. As soon as we have the production mags in I'll get video up of some of the testing. The new mag is designed to fit a standard lower and use the stock mag catch and have last round bolt hold open. It is compatible with both the Blowback and DI uppers.

I have played with grease gun mags peeled and squeezed to fit a standard lower....and I wouldn't trust my life to it.....Thompson mags  are too wide......while you can open up a standard lower to accept them you also must modify the upper to clear the feed lips and trying to get a DI upper to feed from the double feed mag is not a pleasant task.

Reising mags are also too wide for a standard lower...........I have original and some of the 30 round Ken Christie mags that I have worked with...not a satisfactory solution for a production system although once again they can be made to work by a dedicated builder.

Very interesting info.  Is the magazine you designed a double-stack, single feed?  Capacity?

I have another mag that still has either follower, rib design, or material issues that will take a different style (2 piece)  adapter or a dedicated lower that is on the back burner for now.....it is 20 round capacity....we are concentrating on the 16 round mag for now due to it's compatibility with a standard lower..

Hate to say it, but I'd be very reluctant to buy a proprietary magazine from a small manufacturer.  I get that it solves a lot of problems, but magazine availability is what kills semi-autos.  It could be the greatest magazine ever invented, but I wouldn't touch your design until someone else was making it in quantity.  Kudos to your inventiveness - magazines are seemingly the most difficult part to design and build properly in small-arms.

Had one want me to make a follower to run in their 9mm mag......

Also, the new mag should be usable with existing Uzi mag pouches and accessories.

Are they compatible w/ .45" ACP Uzis, or can they be modified to work?  If it's cross-compatible, or another mag can be modified & substituted for yours, that would be a much-more viable platform, and I'd be a lot more interested.

I should have added the Reising mags need the squeeze dance but work fine afterward. I did not continue with Reising R&D due to the cost of the mags. Thompson mags need squeezing as well but also require upper mods and won't work with a BB set up as the bolt won't pick up the rounds. I'm talking about an Oly .45 set up. I have seen a Colt BB version using an opened up 9mm Colt bolt that worked but sadly the maker passed away.

I have a CNC lower machined to take GG mags and Thompson mags. The upper and the bolt carrier need machining similar to the ARs that take AK mags. Mine is about 60% complete.

My youtube Reising video is probably archived as it dates back to 2005.

Ok, fair enough.  If there's an alternate supply of mags, then you're good.

I'm sorry, but a 16-round capacity is not what I am looking for.  I can get that in my Glock.  I can get a shoulder stock kit and from-1 my Glock then I have a Glock AND an SBR when I want one.  And I can get a 26-round magazine for it if I want.  I also understand that using a standard AR-15 lower is a draw.  The problem there is that you end up making too many compromises doing it that way.  I think the G2 DPMS AR-10 might be the perfect platform for a DI .45.  The mag well is large enough and re-cored AR-10 mag should work dandy as it's already the right size.  I did get a quote for a GG mag gun that would fit my needs, but I am still thinking that a Glock-mag lower is the only reasonable path at this point.

Good to know.  Any idea on what SBR/Pistol length barrels you are going to offer?  6", 8" or ?  Hopefully threaded 5/8x24.  I may of missed it.... When are you planning on having the blowback stuff for sale?

I've got an Octane 45 & a slick side upper.  Just waiting for you to release your parts and a KAC URX4 handguard.  Thinking about getting a Glock large frame lower and getting the form 1 in the mail.  I'll probably wait till your mags are out though.  I could go either way and if I can use a standard lower it'll save me the cost of the Glock lower and the tax stamp.

hey I am new to the sight! I AM AN 11 YEAR MILITARY VETERAN I have been building my own 80% AR,s since 2006. I decided to build an AR-45 I done some research and decided to use a advantechprecision 80 % lower, I ordered it on Dec 22 2015, it was supposed to be delivered in 2-3 weeks it is now march 11 2016 numerous phone calls and e-mails have never been returned. I have filed a claim with the B.B.B. and contacted my bank to investigate the charge for failure to deliver the product as stated on there WEB site. DO NOT BUY FROM [ADVANTECHPRECISION] THEY WILL NOT DELIVER THERE PRODUCT.

I see a ton of vapor wear on this thread.

I need a .45ACP SBR blow back complete upper.  Now.  What is available right now?  Some of this shit has been promised for years and still isn't available anywhere I can find.  Not a fucking thing in stock.  I could use a bolt and barrel compatible with GG mags, as I have a standard upper in my junk bin, but prefer to have a complete upper ready to run.

Save me from another Oly upper.  Please.  Do it.  Does anyone sell Oly at a discount, or will I need extra pepper for my angus?

Built an upper last month from a QC!0 bolt and barrel.  Had to get them from Rainier Arms and JSE Surplus.  Was already sitting on a RRA Upper and SLR handguard.  You just have to look and/or be patient.

I use exclusively 230 gr plated round nose over full loads of Win 231, which you said was too fast for DI.  If this remains true, can you email me a quote for a 8" blowback complete flat top upper, no carry handle, and can I order over the intarwebs or phone?

I have a CNC lower and GG mag.  .578x28 threaded Gemtech GM-45 will go on it, but I guess there are different adapters to match a variety of threads. What threads will it come with?

I will probably run a Midwest Industries handguard and barrel nut, so if it doesn't come with that, I won't need it to be that complete if I can get just the remaining parts.

Is your ejector like the Oly?  I couldn't find pics when I took a look through the thread.

I am off to do a form 1 right now...........

An easy work around is possible too: use a lower that accepts Glock magazines, and build it in 45 GAP.

Replace the bolt with one that has a .473 face on it, and you're good to go.

That's what I'm doing.

I built the first AR in .45 GAP (as far as I know). Used a Thompson SMG barrel by shortening the breach. Ran like a raped ape with an Oly blowback set up. It used 9mm Sten mags with the feed lips opened up a little.

Upper to be here soon.  Stamp is paid for.  Magpul CTR/PSA lower build kit from came in today.  I put a Larue MBT in it.  The trigger would not reset with the light spring.  The bolt catch plunger stuck in on the first operation and I had to remove the pin and work the plunger out of its hole.  That was quite stressful and it took quite a bit to get it out.  I have never had it happen before.  I cleaned up the spring bore and reinstalled it. The trigger guard pin took more effort than any I have done previously. I prefer the integrated trigger guards and wish more had that option. Now I need some liquor.............
