As some of you may know from some threads on the other forum, I lost 9 ARs and17 other guns in a burglary of my house in May. One of the rifles taken was my Colt A2 clone, made from an MT 6601. Well my insurance company really came through on the loss and i'm now replacing lost guns. I got a SP6920 lower at a good price on the EE and now have a complete Colt NOS M16A2 upper inbound with a A2 stock assembly from SAW coming. Should have it together next week. Will post pics.
Do the cops have any idea who got your guns yet? I'm about to build another A2 for my GF myself.
Nope, I gave them all the serial numbers so they are in the National Crime database
Don't be surprised if something gets recovered years from now. My department recently recovered a Remington 870 stolen in 1979. Guns are never purged from NCIC until they are recovered.

Oh definitely! When I worked at the District Attorney's Office we'd see stolen guns turn up 5, 10, 15 years later. Usually too late to charge anyone.
I wonder if the stolen guns went to Mexico.
They didn't get the blue couch, did they?
(Glad to hear the insurance came through for you!)
What insurance company do you have?

Farmers Insurance, it was covered under my General homeowner's policy for theft losses. I estimated the value of the stolen guns at $23,000 and they paid me $28,000. I was real happy!
Very nice, Ive been concerned about my policy through Citizens. 3k for guns, I need to switch soon.

You should just be able to purchase a rider for your HO policy through your current insurer to add extra coverage for firearms.
Glad to hear that your insurance covered your firearms.... tomorrow I am gonna call my agent and see if my homeowners policy covers my firearms.

FYI, Sportsmans Insurance Agency offers a gun floater policy that covers scheduled guns for an annual premium of 1.25%.

Sorry that happened to ya! One thing I can't stand is a thief! Glad Farmers came through.......I'm actually a Farmers insurance agent. Did you have your firearms limit increased or have your guns scheduled on the policy? Most people don't realize firearms, jewelry, coins, etc have special limits on how much can be claimed, they aren't aware until they have a claim then it's too late. You can choose to raise the limit or schedule (list) guns on policy so they are covered for actual loss amount sustained.
No, actually they were covered as part of my general policy against theft and loss, with no limits, except the deductible. Didn't have to list or schedule them separately.

that is super good. I don't think my policy is that good and I need to get with them on this.
I have State Farm, and only have $2500.00 coverage. Will definitely be calling the company above tomorrow.
