So installing the kit per the instructions and looks ther could be be an gas hole misalignment?

The instructions ask you to push the carrier with op rod capture screw all the way in and let the carrier push the gas block forward.

Below is what I got. Seems too far forward? I know it is correct because there is back and forth plan in the op rod(it is not binding turns 360 easily)

Anyone else have these issue? I have 2 pistol op rods so I know it's not a defect.

Was the op rod spring installed when you pushed the carrier forward?

No spring installed, no bolt as well.

I had 2 pistol op rods I'm thinking they were machined to different length/tolerance by mistake?

Followed instructions to a t.

Loosely fit block
Install op rod
Screw down detent plug fully
Install carrier without bolt into receiver
Gently push carrier so it pushs gas block to correct position
Check op rod to ensure there is no play
I even push back on gas block towards receiver

Weird. I'd send a pic to Tony with all the specs on your upper. What barrel are you using?

Yeah I did

This is on a kak industries 8" 7.62x39

Just curious if anyone used a superlative or Syrac pistol length kit

I thought that there wasn't a universal spec for pistol length barrels?

Go back to the manufacturer first before you panic.  Both for the barrel and the piston kit.

Wanted to give an update. Since I got my stamp finally I went ahead and bought another barrel to see if it made a difference and it did.

The first barre I had was a KAK 8" 7.62x39 using a pistol gas system. After taking some rough measurements with a caliper I concluded doing the install via superlative arms instructions the gas port on the block would barely meet the gas port on the barrel, with an already small port size I knew this would be problematic for cycling.

I didn't have another pistol length barre to compare to know if the superlative arms op rod length was wrong vs the pistol gas length standards

I found a website that sold 7.5" 7.62x39 melonite barrel: cobra Tactical systems that actually listed the gas port size: .910", I figure I order this barrel so I don't have to redrill my current barrel and gas port size would be big enough to give extra room to meet the gas block and I can always dial down if need be.

Turns out after I had both barrels side by side the KAK industries barrel to the shoulder and gas port is ~.05" shorter.

Seems with a gas tube this difference might not make a huge difference but with the piston it does.

So I guess if anyone is trying to use this combo in the future they can reference this experience.

My Daniel Defense pencil barrel is like this. The gas block is very far forward of the shoulder.

I wouldn't mind it being too forward but the problem is I measuare from end of gas block to port and from shoulder to gas port on barrel and the 2 holes would not have enough clearance, like this:

Shouldn't be seems just off spec on these pistol gas systems.
