Im in the market for something new. Not another DI AR15... Currently i am looking st the CZ Bren 805. I actually like the look of it a lot. But i was curious what other rifles out there that offer the side chsege piston system?
It can be complete rifles or just the upper.

I was also looking at the Arak21 upper. Any thoughts on this?

Are you looking for .223 only or open to different calibers?

You actually have a few options, for side charging rifles, especially if you are willing to go bullpup.

In addition to the two you've already listed, you have:

FN SCAR 16s
Bushmaster ACR
Robinson Arms XCR
IWI Tavor
Steyr AUG
Desert Tech MDR

heck if you are going for just 223 piston/side charger then you might want to look at the VZ 58 223's. It charges on the side and is a piston. I love mine but its a 762

Adcor defense piston ar15 has both: standard rear charging handle and a handguard located side charging handle which is ambidextrous as well.

Thanks all..... I may just build one... Or partial build.

The bren is my first choice but i keep my stock pretty compact and the Bren when fuly collapsed is about 1.5" longer than i would llike.

Interesting you are considering this. Last night I was looking at a Matrix side charging Currently not in use and considering switching out parts with a spare AA home built upper I have. I'm sure I'd be the only kid on my block with a side charging piston set up. Only thing holding me back is spending another buck 70 on a Samson rail or equivalent. Definitely a cool idea.

You want different? My two cents: Go buy an HK SL8 and begin converting it into a G36 clone. All the dope and resources (>cough<Tommybuilt) are over at HKPro.com. I absolutely love mine-- it is the Cadillac of the piston guns. Wasn't cheap, though.
