I bought a used Osprey nickel boron mid length kit off of a member here. I installed it and got my combination of parts correct. I have approx. 11k rounds through it. That rifle functions great. I fit it under a slightly modified LWRC free float rail as well.

I was looking at them a few years ago but the limited selection of handguards it worked with and lack of customer service when I tried calling them caused me to look elsewhere. The system works from what information I could find. I however went with the Superlative Arms kit instead. So far I am very happy with my choice in Suparms. Great product nd great customer service.

Anyone have manual on them?  I got one at the NRA convention, but all it had was an installation guide, and could not get any tech support...

I have their White paper (Technical Summary and Analysis) which covers a good description and testing (6,000 round no failure on M16) and drawings.
Send me your e-mail and I'll send it to you.

I've used my kit on a Model 1 11.5" 5.56 upper in 1597 rounds of full auto fire with no problems.  Keeps the action and bcg MUCH cleaner.

The spigot part going into my front sight base was very tight, but then I don't plan on removing it any time soon.

WholeBunches: what are you using for a buffer? Do you know the diameter size of the gas port?
Is the Osprey on their 11.5" A2 Commando upper?

11.5" Commando upper w/chrome lined bore and chamber in 5.56

No idea of the gas port diameter

It's being using on an M16 lower in rifle configuration (A2 stock, standard rifle buffer spring, standard rifle buffer).  99% of the time it's shot full auto.  Empties come out about 3 to 3:30 o'clock.  Reloads used are a touch less powerful than USGI ammo (about 100fps less).

Funny event: I asked Model 1 Sales for the size of their gas port on 11.5" barrel. Answer: "Proprietary information"....

No, they're the manufacturer and decided to sell them after Syrac kicked off. They own the patent for the "bleed off" system.

Great customer service.
