I'm switching from the stock Samson rail & Adams Arms Railed Gas Block, to a Geissele MK8 rail & Syrac Ordnance piston system.

So, i got my Trifecta MB off with no issue after soaking the end in some distilled water over night to loosen the Rocksette. I turned to driving out the two pins so i could remove the gas block and then the rail, thats where i ran into my current issue.

They look to be straight pins and not tapered pins. I did some Googling and some say either way works, some say left to right. Well i did my best and i couldn't even get them to budge, not one bit. So i took it to my local gunsmith, thinking maybe he'll have some experience or knowledge to get them out. After some solid hits, he couldn't even get them to move. The only thing he recommended was using a drill press as a arbor press, but the rail would have to be off for him to do that. He put some type of solvent on it (thinking maybe they used some type of loctite), and told me to let it soak overnight and then try again.

Does anyone here have any advice?

Here is an album with some photos of the current issue.

Problem solved

I sent an email to Adams Arms about the same time i post this yesterday. I got a reply from them earlier this morning. I'm sending my upper to them so they can properly remove the gas block.

The bright side is i'll only have to pay for the shipping to and from Adams Arms. Total cost was $35 for the shipping both ways.

Cody from Adams Arms quoted around 48hrs turnaround time to do the work. Better than some of the prices/times i got from some gun smiths around me that weren't 100% sure they could do it. Granted most gunsmiths around me are swamped with work for hunting rifles since rifle season is around the corner.
