I am pretty sure that there was a listing of Handguards that fit the Syrac Ordnance piston system. Maybe I imagined it! There is NO list on the SO website, and my google searches come up with nothing.

Tried searching the forum, but only got one hit and it was not relevant.

I guess I will call Syrac Ord in the morning.

I think the more pertinent question is -- which handguards do not fit the Syrac system?

I assume that 95%+ of handguards will work with it.

The only problem is actually acquiring the kit, which has been "shipping soon" for the better part of a year now.

I don't know if I got lucky or what, but I placed my order on Oct 12 and received my Mid Length Kit on Oct 16. I ordered directly from Syrac Ordnance!

I think the fact that it was a mid-length kit is why you got it so quickly.  All the carbine length kits are sold out and "back ordered" literally everywhere.

I can tell you that I tried a Pistol length kit on a 9" NSR and while I was able to pound the gas block down to the barrel seat.  Once I dropped the op rod in it bound in the upper receiver hole and would not function.  I am sure that the gas block was probably slightly canted but there was ZERO room for adjustment.

I removed the Syrac kit and now have it listed on the EE.

I really wanted to make this work but it was just too tight under the NSR.

You can see the dimensions of the gas piston on Syrac Ordinance's website. I never saw a list either, however I have put one on a YHM SLK Keymod Hand guard which is very low profile. I also had it fit on under a UTG super slim keymod which is the lowest profile I have seen. I would say that most floating hand guards fit the piston.

The best way to get a kit is to order from their website. I was told everything is back ordered and they are making them as fast as they can. The two pistol length that I have were shipped about a month after the order was placed.

I know the 2A Armament handguards do NOT fit. The handguards are big enough, but the channel under the rail where the op-rod goes is too thin for the gasblock to fit.  (I physically tried it)

I am now using a Midwest Industries SSM Handguard. just as slim as the 2A Armament one, and fits like a charm.
Any of the Midwest hanguards should fit, I don't think any of them are smaller then their SS series.

My BCM KMR works very well. But like previously mentioned, I think you will have a hard time finding one that doesn't fit.

On another note... Where is Syrac Ordnance's industry thread???? It totally disappeared and that's where the listing the OP is talking about was located.

I thought about the 2A armament key mod hand guards for my first piston build. I am glad I did not go that route now. Thanks for the info

Does anyone know if it will fit under a Geissele SMR MK8 rail?

I'm looking to switch my Adams Arms railed piston system and the Samson Evo Rail that came on my Adams Arms 7.5'' PDW.

Yes with a little work at the top. Take a round file to the notch at the top and take a little off. I have got another on installed on my larue costa

Awesome, thanks for the photo.

I'll definitely pick up the rail now, that little bit of sanding isn't bad at all. Did the rest of the install go smoothly?

Yes 10 min sanding and the rest was a deam. Vary easy install

The SYRAC piston kit worked very well with the MEGA Arms MKM 420 upper/rail. Video of the build and test firing. About 500 rounds with no issues so far.
