Hello all,

I recently took ownership of an MK220. I have only put about 20 rounds down range and very impressed with the overall performance. My only issue is the supplied buttstock, it rattles and in all positions it's loose.

When I bring the weapon up to get sight on target I am bothered by it moving. Here I have a $2k rifle and it sounds like a cheap plastic toy when the buttstock rattles. Anyone else have this issue?

So my thought, and question to those of you far more informed and experienced with this platform than I is, I want to remove this buttstock and replace it. What buttstock has worked well for those of you with a .308 PWS and does it switch out in the same manner as an AR-15 does?

I appreciate advise and suggestions. I am willing to spend $150+ to get a good, no rattle stock.

Thank You,
Delly

Delly-

I have the mk 216 and wasn't entirely satisfied with the moe butt stock either.  I just installed the magpul str, which was a significant improvement....night and day really.  Swapping them out is simple.

Change it out.

Or, use a shit-ton a Gorilla tape.

Thank You! I am very surprised by the slack of the buttstock for such a high dollar firearm

I will shop around fr the one you suggested.

Take care

will any traditional mil spec stock fit on the PWS Mk2 rifles?

I like the weight of the MOE stock but would prefer to have one that's more setup to my liking. I was thinking one of the Luth-AR stocks.. anyone tried one on their PWS (or other rifle for that matter)?

any other lightweight stocks that might work well? I've got an LMT SOPMOD on one rifle and a Magpul ACS on another. Might just stick with one of those but the Luth-Ar I thought might be nice if I do some longer range shooting with it (it's quite a bit lighter than the PRS)..

just a quick note, I got my lower today and pulled the MOE stock off (yes it rattles around a bit, but its' light!) and put on a ACS that I had on another lower onto the PWS MK216. fit is great and I like the way it feels. locks up solid. the MOE stock rattles on the other rifle I put it back on so it's just the MOE that rattles, nothing with PWS.

I'll end up with something different (I had the FDE version but would prefer to keep the new rifle black) and will post up some photos once I figure out my final setup..

MPUL ACS locks up super tight.
Barely perceptible play once locked and honestly not much without the lock. There have been times I forgot to hit the lock after releasing the adjustment lever and it didn't rattle.
Generous cheek weld surface as well.

Sidenote, has anyone tried the new Daniel Defense stock? Thoughts on it. Does it rattle at all?
I'm thinking about putting the ACS on a different rifle and was considering a lighter MPUL, but then this caught my eye.

friend of mine was recently looking for a good rifle for all around use (defensive and maybe some hunting further down the road). I recommended a Daniel Defense V11 and got to play with it last week. I really like the new furniture on the DD rifles. I have always liked the rubberized grips and parts (hogue overmolded 10/22 stocks, Ergo grips, etc) and found that the DD had just the right amount of overmolding to have a nice grip/texture while not being too soft or sticky feeling. solid kit IMHO.

not sure why I hadn't really thought of putting the DD stock on mine. just seemed odd to put on AR manufacturers parts on a different one but why not??
