Looking for something in 300 blackout for an SBR, I've already got several PWS rifles in 308 and 223 and am quite happy. Just how reliable is the 109 in 300 blackout, I've read mixed things on the net with feeding problems. I'll be running it suppressed with mostly subsonic loads.

My 109 here and absolutely love it. I shoot it suppressed 99% of the time and it goes out weekly with me. I have had no issues with any of my PWS rifles.

How quiet would you say it is with subsonics?

My mk109 has been 100% reliable both suppressed with subs and unsuppressed with supers.  It has quickly become one of my favorite rifles.  As far as how quite it is, I don't have any data for you.  All I can say is that every time I let someone shoot it for the first time, there is always laughter in disbelief.

As an addendum, 95% of my shooting has been suppressed with "budget" subs.  I am running a Silencer Co. Octane 9 with an Aimpoint T-1.  It is incredibly light in hand, and frankly, I can't think of one thing I would change.

No adjustable gas block on the mk109 right?

Yep, same here -- been running the Octane 9 instead of my 762 suppressor for a year now.  The 762 can just stays on the AR308 pretty much permanently now.

Subsonic 300 BLK w/ the Octane 9 is pretty much the most under rated & under appreciated dedicated subsonic 300 BLK setup out there.  There's really no perceived difference in sound and the weight savings of the Octane 9 is absolutely noticeable over any 762 suppressor.

And if I need/want supers, I've got plenty of 556 that will take care of it.

Is it still a long stroke piston? Is it very gassy?

I don't think it is gassy at all.

PWS MK109 MOD-0  NO

PWS MK109 MOD-1  YES

I don't think the mod 1 mk109 has the adjustable gas block either.

There is NO adjustable gas block on the mod 1, which will not cycle subs without the added back pressure of a suppressor.

Running supersonic rounds mine has been great.  Subsonics without suppressor, mine will not cycle at all.  Waiting on the suppressor has been killing me!
