I have owned a POF and I am intimately familiar with the platform both .308 and 5.56. The .308 is a waste of time, way too many issues. Plus, POF is less than stellar in their customer service area. If the owner had not belittled me, insulted me, and ignored me for about 6 weeks while I was trying to get him to fix my rifle that should never have made it through the QC process in the first place, then I would not be typing this today. When it comes to POF, the owner loves to take your money, but if you have an issue with his product, then he has better things to do than fix his problems. When it takes a courtesy call from the ATF to get him to return the several voice-mails left for him for over a week and a half, then there is most certainly an issue. In the spirit of cooperation, I gave Frank several chances to make that situation right. After all, he had my rifle.... He snubbed me at every chance, so until the day he apologizes for being a condescending arrogant prick, I will never have anything positive to say about him or his company.
The 5.56 version of the platform, (Hogan) was always spot on as far as shooting and never gave a malfunction. With that being said, it's not worth the cost of the rifle. The rail is way to high resulting in one having to add a cheek riser to get a decent sight picture. It's WAY to heavy. There are so many other AR manufacturers out there that offer a superior product for less money. If you want a piston driven precision rifle, try a PWS, an LWRC IC, an Adcor, an AA. They are all so much better and much lighter than a POF. Plus, if you did for some reason have an issue which required the manufacturers assistance, at least they will give a rip and get you taken care of.
